bought a briggs and strat washer there a few years back and works fine. Probably a lucky one but since when do you expect high end equipment and service from CT? Not as though the are boasting top notch gear there. Its cheap crap sold at cheap prices.

If your cheap enough not to buy a good one then I would think you would have drained the fuel for the next one to save you a trip to the pump.

Just saying,
Wouldn't want you swearing at my kids if they worked there.

I'm the same way, you can get a lot further this day and age being courteous to people. If you dropped $600 for a pressure washer just to clean your toys and quads. It didn't work? They weren't going to give you anything? You would just be like "Okay have a nice day" Hit up Princess Auto and buy another one. Fawk that man. $600 is $600, thats a weekend of sledding if I don't break anything.

looks like u didnt get my point at all
never sayed i would walk away with no refund or new unit !
but the way u achieve that or should achieve that should be handled with some kinda respect for the other persons point

Doesn't matter, they can't sell it with gas in it, nor would they want it in their store with gas is my point.

It takes longer to argue with them over it then it does to drain the gas.[/QUO

they say they fix them right at the store... well in order for them to do this , they must 1st put in some fuel , something I have already supplied them , i also topped off the oil . so this warranty work should take what ??? 2 weeks .... honestly .... they don't give a rat's ass about the pressure washer guy , until he gets pissed off........... BTW..... I stood in line for 45 min while they sorted this out

i love canadian tire , most of the people that work there are nice and helpful , some are morons who think they are better then you but i walk up and and ask for my parts or whatever and if they dont give good service i say (out loudly) "can you get someone HELPFUL to serve me please?" and they quickly get what you want............

but towards your story........

if you had your bill and your stuff together their should be no problem in getting your money back , but when a customer comes into timmies cursing and swearing and screaming at me it doesn't make me wanna help them in anyway.........

don't even get me started on timmy F%^&*ing hortins :d

I worked with and rebuilt industrial pressure washer pumps for a couple years. For the gas engine ones you have to hold a wand trigger open to start then because pulling it over the pump builds pressure and can blow the seals out of it or can break the half moon key on the jack shaft because the unloader valve works off flow pressure and you can trap air in the pump and blow it out. And you should never ever run a pump dry just because someone has done it without a problem they will have a problem. Pumps have brass or ceramic pistons with rubber seals to keep pressure and to run them dry just wrecks them unless it is a rotary pump the ends on the vanes are teflon on rubber "may" run a little longer dry but will eventually loose pressure.
When shopping for a pressure washer don't all always look at PSI also look at GPM (gallons per minute) sure with lots of PSI you can strip paint in a tiny area but it doesn't clean very good. If you throw lots of water at with good pressure it will come clean. Most car washes are 12-15GPM at 800-1200 PSI so no sense having a home one thats 3500PSI and 2GPM better choice is 1500-2000PSI and 5GPM so try to get the best of both worlds high PSI high GPM... you wouldn't take a windex bottle to a water gun fight would you?
And just because it "looks" industrial doesn't mean it is industrial EG: princess auto they have a big range in PW so do you home work, as for electric pressure washers they are to clean you house windows

I have had my Briggs and Stratton 2550 PSI(2.3GPM) for 4 years now and every time it starts and runs like new. I got it at Crappy tire on sale and have had no problems at all.

I bought an electric karcher pressure washer for light washing. Works fine so far. I also bought an air compressor where the frame is the tank. Works well for camping. Also bought a snowblower there 4 yrs ago. I have no complaints in reguards to CT. Unfortunately return policies can be frustrating as all hell with any retailer. It's worse with items of low standards (cheap crap). Ponyboy I feel your frustration when it comes to dealing with some people. A level head is sometimes very hard to keep

Gotta love the oilpatch finesse :beer: :d
