I'm actually surprised Yamy hasn't done something with the Turbo. It would seem to be an easy way to get more market share.

I wonder if it has anything to do with reliability issues. Although a well designed turbo setup shouldnt have any issues. Especially with a factory designing it. I guess one problem might be with people upping the boost and blowing them up. Or maybe it has to do more with the costs associated with a turbo engine and the normal market not willing to pay the price.

I agree on the reliability, but the same could be said for any vehicle with a turbo and a person bumping up the boost...There has to be something else?

I think Yamaha has no relibility issues with turbos the aftermarket people have proven that I think it is a LIABILTY issue for Yamaha. Maybe they dont want the responsibilty issue of inexperienced riders doing EXTREME RIDING on a factory turboed sled. Let the aftermarket manufactures deal with that issue. Yamaha builds a sled that works within the average rider ability for safety and the aftermarket manufacture increase the power which could take the rider into EXTREME or dangerous conditions. Look at the NYTRO it has been said that there is enough room under the hood to fit a turbo in it already. Dont you think a company like MX-Express maybe had a little design involvement in the hood and underhood layout. Just my nickle worth of thoughts.

I went an looked at one yesterday at Argyll Motorsports, A Nytro 25 anniversery special with the turbo. I would perfer without the turbo for the first while to break in, so there is at least some warrente. You void that as soon as you add the turbo. It seems ok in the back end when you pick it up but the front end, ohhhh:eek:, iikes, almost seen stars. Thats where all the weight is. The tunnel looks alot deeper than usual and I was looking at the track its a 15" track with odd lugs 2 per section with a small one on each side. Short wide ski's, a nice fit and finish. Priced good too. Im not crazy about the blue one though, liked the white, red and black one though. Mabie for next season.. Who knows.:twocents:

25th anniversary? Didnt know Yammi made that very sled 15 years ago and never sold it:D

From what i have read, the maverick track is complete garbage. A lot of guys are turning them around and having pretty decent luck.

Curious as to what they are selling for now?

ive got about 500k on my nytro mtx and i love it!!!! its got lots of pull on the flat land and up in the mountains. i raced an 800HO rev ST and ive got it off the line but 3/4 the way down he gets bout a sled length ahead of me, against the 600HO summits it did very well pulling stronger out of the hole and keeping the distance down the line. i will say that the maverick track is indeed garbage but perhaps i should try and flip it around and see wat happens. but all in all i am very pleased with the performance and feel it has.

I've got about 350kms on my Nytro MTX so far I love it. Once you set the suspension up to suit your riding habits, it's awesome. Great power, yamaha reliability doesn't get much better.

Ahh...The new Nytro. 515 lbs dry. 138 HP on the dyno, and quite possibly the best stock snowmobile I've ever ridden (granted I haven't rode anyone else's '08 model). Takes a while to get used to the extreme rider forward (well worth the time), and the factory skis (RTX) have me ordering a wider ski with twin carbides so I can get up a little more in the powder. from a dead stop in 6 inches of powder to 140 km/hr in less than 4 seconds (3/4 throttle) to laying the machine over in the deep stuff and almost spinning donuts. I am doing nothing but enjoying this ride. The best part - I can stop being a mechanic and focus more on being a sledneck!

dont care if the Yammies are heavier,,I have asthma from all my years of working on the 2 stroke stuff.. like the 4 stroke idea.but nothing new for me,in 1977 I put a 750 Honda engine in a Elan..ride it 2 days and sold it..all it would do was spin..but I did it way before the big 4 did.shifting it was kinda weird though.hand clutch was too..
