and speaking of all the talk of ruining our bodies, my boyfriend crashed pretty bad at my buddy's track lastnight, Andre will know cuz he's been there but he went to clear the first gap double on my buddy's brand new Husky 250 four stroke, first time he's ridden the bike and first time this bike has pretty much been ridden at all and he came up short and cased it hard, he was knocked unconcious momentarily, and was out of it for a good hour, lost short term memory..couldn't remember what happened, or anything prior or after the crash, likely had a minor concussion, possibly a cracked rib or two and maybe a sprained wrist, and very, very bad road rash...and nutted himself pretty bad too. Probably would have helped a little if he was wearing more than just a t-shirt. By far the stupidest thing he's done, and he isn't impressed with himself. He's gonna be sore for a while and likely won't be making any of his up coming golf trips!

sounds like he hit in 3rd... OOOPS!

No clue, but it was likely he hesitated, I don't think he intended to hit the jump but I think he made the last minute split decision when he was flying up to it to go for it, then bailed too late. He didn't even hit that jump on his bike lastnight. It took him a very long time to work up the courage to hit that jump months ago on his bike and hasn't done it since, well lastnight. But he doesn't know, he doesn't remember what happened or what went wrong, or why he even hit that jump on a bike he isn't used to in the first place. Lesson learned I guess, it shook him up enough to make him not want to ride for a while thats for sure atleast not a track, likely he'll be too sore for the next little bit anyway.

On a good note, I had a fun lastnight, and despite my other halfs nasty spill I rode on, the jumps were feeling good lastnight, it's been a while.

Yeah my buddy had his KTM 150 out too, it was his first time riding a track ever but he's a really good rider, he hit and cleared all the jumps first go no hesitations. Wiped out hard on Johnnys bike, not used to the power of the 250 lol.

I think most tracks allow sport quads, no? Lets just say anything that is allowed on an MX track and/or harescramble trails could participate lol. I still think Wild Bills would be the best spot, they have a little BBQ cookhouse , firepit, and tons of room to accomodate everyone and their toys, trucks, trailers etc and to arrange something like this ahead of time they might even be willing to give a discount or shut down part of the day depending on the turn out, Bill and Deb are great friendly people. However hard to say how many people would turn out for something like this, and might have to arrange it for next year or something.

It is about 10 mins not even past the Genesee plant west of the city. They currently charge $20. They do have a FaceBook page I believe.

I think it would be awsome if we set a date to ride this summer :d or even at like some trails?? vega? long island lake (my favorite)? wild bills? ANYTHING! riding is waay better when you have some other people to ride with  more than 50 people on a mx track is scary. espesialy when not everyone is jumping, someone is going to get landed on.

Depending on the amount of people that showed up ya but I don't think there are a lot on here that would though. Trail riding would be awesome aswell. Rocky mountain house and Long island lake are definitely my fav spots as well. Really just a matter of putting heads together here and figurin out what works best for everyone in general, and most importantly, how many people are interested, etc.

Wild Bill's is a pretty good spot and like LadyDirt said, tons of room for parking and camping. Last Saturday was my first time riding there and I really liked it. It needed some grooming but the layout was awesome!

I'm up for any kind of riding, the only problem I have with trail riding is I'm pretty limited for gas capacity and this 450 is a pig on fuel. Unless someone wants to be a fuel mule for me, I'll bring beer for after the ride:d:beer:

That sucks about your boyfriend though, crashes are a harsh reality of riding. Glad to hear he is ok aside from the concussion, ribs and smack to the junk. My buddy broke his femur back when we were in junior high from the bike landing on him after a jump gone wrong, scary stuff. He now sports a titanium rod in his leg:eek:

Yeah I hear ya, I don't really have that problem as my bike seems to go forever on gas, but when we rode the rally in Rocky I definitely needed to refuel at one point, fortunately we had a fuel mule. Most trails rides though you can always loop back when your getting low to refuel, have a beer, relax a little then head back out again, thats what we usually do but it never seems like we ride long enough in one go for anyone to run out of fuel, even the 450's. Either way, it would be cool to make something happen. The Snow and Mud jamboree was a lot of fun and its nice to get out and meet and ride with other members on the site.

Well right now it sounds like I could be free on the Aug 20th weekend, that's pretty short notice but right now it's one of the only weekends I know i'm going to be around until late September. We could just try a casual track day to start, this way people that don't have insurance or registration on there machines can come, and I know ONE particular biker on this site that would be interested that doesn't have either haha. I dunno? Just a thought. This way people to get a little bit of a meet n greet, and could possibly lead to bigger future riding endeavors.
