so since i have had my 670 it has never been but before i owned it it never left the mounatins. so how do i vote? unit was bought new and spent every winter till 5 yrs ago in revelstoke, never left, sinc i got it the closest it got to the mountains was the cline sugarbowls once. lol
so its probably 50/50 mountains and flats, going on 5000 miles and its never been opened except for the belt that went into the bottom end last year. replace prto side bearing and away we go again. still original top end, and crank.

When I rode a 153" I rode around 5 to 6 days a year around here. A few years later I upgraded to a 162" rode 2 - 3 days around here. This year went to a 174" and have zero days riding around here.

Damn I just realized I need another sled just take the kids out around here now!!!

Do you want to break it to my wife or should I ??? :d

But what if I want a 3" paddle to ride packed snow on flat land with a 174" track? It looks SICK!!!!! Lets also raise the rear super high with a drop kit so people can see my sick ride.

When I was in Saskatoon visiting my 'rents, I think I only seen mountain sleds. I was wondering two things:

1) Why?
2) Where do people in sask buy their sleds? Do dealerships only bring in mountain sleds?

I ride only mountain. My sled has only seen mountain riding. My schlong must me short and skinny too since I only have a 151.

IMO, the major issue is cooling. Big tracks riden on hard snow don't cool the engine. The downfall is that big track robs power.

I rode my sled around home this year. Usually lots of snow out in fields and no cooling issues.

Gets expensive having 2 sleds ( believe me i tried it this year), So guys that ride the mountains just buy one and ride it around home when they get the chance.

Dealerships bring in lots of mountain sleds.

is a 99 670x a "mountain sled" ??????

that was the best factory built mountain sled in the world in that year lol
they kinda dont do it anymore but it keeps fersh mountaineers from getting into to much trouble.

i voted 50-50.... well this year we got some good snow around here so its been about 50 -50

out by medicine lake there is still waist deep good snow...... been tryin to track as much up as possible

my sled is a 144 chassis with out and tunnel ext with a 151 track in it.... looks like it should be there

the only cooling issue this year was revy going between boulder and frisby and my coolant gadge not working [ would have known before the dummy light came on to put out the scrachers ] .... had to dump snow on the tunnel for a bit....

Of the little bit that i've rode around here my sled is never ever out of the soft snow. When trail riding up to the mountain I can over heat my sled for a few seconds probably 1 out of 2 trails. If it doesn't happen on the way up it happens on the way down. Also, look at the snowmobile classifieds from out east. lots of high (5000+km sleds) Most do not mention new motors. These are short tracks though of course so maybe this is a mute point.

I couldnt imagine only having access to trails/ditches. I would sell my sled in a heartbeat.

Pretty dull riding that would be...

I`m one of the 75% Flatland and 25% mountain. I have 5800 KM on a 08 summit 800. Seems easy riding around home not to hard on it. Works good here no issues with clutching, overheating ,trail riding at all. I like to bushwack more that ride trails but still do a fair bit of groomed trail riiding. Powder packing in the bush.

We ride alot of pipelines, powerlines...etc around here. Generally riding in the 3000'-4500' range around tom hill tower and up towards swan hills. Not a big trail fan. Usually ride like in the mountains, take the trail to the good riding spots then take trail home. Always want to do more mountain riding but finding reliable mountain riding buddies is hard. For example, planned 6 trips to the mountains so far including one to revy on the 25th this month and if this one happens it will be my 2nd time this season going to the big hills:d

u need to find more sledin friend options.........

and u don't allways want to just go with someone u just meet on here for example... cause u never know what they are or about....

2 years ago i went with some guys from s and m and went to quartz....

they decided that it was a good idea to drop into the outa bounds area [ shoveled the cornice :d, and rode down there cause there was no tracks for 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour... i stayed up top and waited for them to come back up and didn't realy say nothin cause they were my ride home.....

had a few guys come to the top there and ask what my buddys were doin...

i lied and said the one went over the side from a different spot and the other guy went down to get him out of there....
