The Ultramax XS (I think thats what the model number is) has been good to me, but not much cheaper. I think they are around $90 from Royal Distributing, probably some dealers on here that would match that. I don't know if you can get cheap belts, and I would be scared to try them if you could. I agree with you though, belts are way over priced.

If there are dealers on here that would match that price, let me know.. I would much rather support the little guy.

Hey bud, I found this: M1000 EFI 0627-060 37GBSSV1167 $97.00
M6 EFI 0627-046 37GBSSV1167 $97.00
M8 EFI 0627-046 37GBSSV1167 $97.00

This is $100 bucks cheaper than Stock Cat M1000 Belt and same price as M800

Royal pissed me off last season, and several of us got jerked around the year before. Not sure if i'm going to deal there again....

Another option for aftermarket stuff.
Myself I've tried and hated aftermarket belts a couple of different times so I only run factory belts now.

U can run the M8 belt on the M1000 no problem!! As far as I'm concerned the 060 belt that cat tells u to run on the M1000 doesn't work as good as the 046 belt they run on the 800's. Other than that though I wouldn't run anything but cat belts. All the aftermarket stuff is junk in my opinion. I tried running aftermarket ones so I could cheap out a bit and they didn't pull the same rpm nor did they last as long as the cat belts.

I got belts from kenssports.com, $72 each for the 046 and $132 for the 060. Shipping on 5 belts was 40. Really good to deal with, had the belts in less than a week.

What he said - I tried an Utimax belt - didn't make one ride. I use the Cat 046 belt - works better then the 060 IMHO, and I have 700 miles on one currently on my 1000...

Wow, I have never had any trouble with the ultimax xs belt..lasted all of last year and bit of the year before, at least 600-700 miles (on the M7).

Well that's what I'm gonna do is run the M8 belt on the 1000 this year and see what the results are, saves me a $100 bucks and I don't have to piss around with waiting for a belt to show up in the mail! I hate brokerage and duty fees as well. Thanks for the tips and suggestions.

My 07's came with an 046 belt and I got 1300 miles out of it before I changed it. I blew a few trying to figure out the RKteck secondary but now that I have it figure out all is good again. I tried the 060 and and didn't see any advantage in spending the extra $$$. buy an 046 and spend the Difference on a 60 of Gibbies.

I have 2 NEW XS-817 ultra maxes if anyone is interested.i had Major alighment issues, but they still work good for me.They pull like a 060.They have 2-300 rpm down from the 046.
If you want to buy XS belts phone agrisports in regina they are like 20 cheaper than rec supply. They are a little shop and really good guys, and have been around along time.

Every time myself, or friends tried an after market belt on an M sled, it lasted half the life of a stock cat belt, and also the sleds did not seem to climb as good.
So while very pricey, I still prefer the actual Cat belts.

Has any body tried the gates x belts on an m8. Napa has them on for 80 bucks. They say there good for hyper sleds but maybe not hyper riders.

I agree with you on this , I switched to an 040 and put on 1300k without a hitch.
