Sounds about right...goes by the month depending on your last name here...for me my last name begins with 'M' so Feb is my month to renew, Oct to Feb was about $27/sled for me so $45 yr sounds about right!

Longhorn, check out your blanket one alot more closely as should all of you with any of youur policies regarding ATV's, Motorcycles or Sleds, or any policy you have actually. and if you have coverage that says you are covered for the cost of a new one, Have them highlight this and Initial it and print their name.
Trust me on this one. I had a friend who wrote off his turbo apex 2 years ago ( It was 2 months old). He had over $40,000 into it ( Not quite sure of the exact amount) and at the time his insurance was $450 ish. He even payed more and brought in all the paperwork to show it's exact worth, and they assured him that he would get COMPLETE replacement value ( 1st year anyways) if it was stolen or written off in an accident.
When it was all said and done they gave him the cost for a new Apex only ( Which was a couple of thousand less than it was to buy a new one out of the crate. No coverage at all for Turbo etc.
Now he ranted and raved because he spent over $30,000 a year with this company on insurance for his entire business etc.
He is no longer with them and now has seperate insurance policies for each of his sleds (5) and makes them Initial and print their names on the part of the policy that does state the replacement value and negates any other policy.

Just for your Info.

I hate insurance companies and could tell you a ton more stories.

Thanks for the heads up, but in one of my previous posts, I explained this is exactly what I have done...Its easy with vehicles and my heavy equipment, but there seems to be a real 'void' and grey area around recreation vehicles...All sleds are on separate policies, and we have one office trailer than even though we have sent about a hundred pics and explanations, the insurance co still insists on calling an RV that one too is on its own policy.

Great advice...I have had no issues in all these years with my company, just not willing to take a chance, too many horror stories like your buds...

Why do you want to regi it and park it???,, dont regi if not riding in AB,, I live in AB but sled 95% BC,,, I have Liability/theft/fire/ insurance but I dont bother paying the $60 per year to regi.

but you must have insurance and AB driver license to Regi any vehicle in AB....

I was told by a retired RCMP, that you have to follow the rules of the province you live and where your vehicle is registered....

Example: If you reside in alberta, and are required to have insurance and registration, the same is required when you ride in BC.... (even if BC residents can ride in BC without registration)....

I was told the opposite. You have to follow the rules in BC if you're riding in BC. Hmmmmmm, wonder which one is true?

Who covers you now? Did you get a quote? To answer the first question, ins first then reg...yes. The only tax is the 5% GST. My sleds are insured to cover my ass and yours if we are involved in a wreck. I have never registered and I have my own reasons for that.
