I heard some chirping when I jumped on a Doo after bashing BRP for so many years. You get over it when you have nothing but fun on one all day
The thing is I wouldn’t have fun on one, I’ve tried them, rode a 2015 summit x quite a bit, multiple days in a row and have ridden a couple different G4’s for 20 mins here 20 there, the steering is the biggest issue for me, I absolutely hate it, the 16” wide track makes me feel to bow legged and the ancient rear skid well….. it speaks for itself. One thing I did like was the trail manners, I could ride trails on those doos all day and never fatigue, they are excellent in that aspect

Based on their YouTube teaser video it looks like much of the same, so some new graphics and colors. And Im sure MSRP will be up a few grand as well just cause.

Looks like the Sidewinder will have to go on another diet over the summer for next season and then have to make some choices on a new brand if Cat/Yamaha are still out of the game.
Your sidewinder is sick though so why not keep improving it

Most of us skidoo guys have huge nuts so we are always bow legged anyways doesn’t bother us. Could see how that would be an issue for a cat guy though

I can understand your concerns. In my case I've been running the laydown post for two seasons on my cat, so it came naturally on the Doo. The 16" doesn't bother me, but I'm also 6'4. Rear suspension... Needs some work. First trip on the Doo, I already felt like a better rider than I ever was on the Alpha. Had to get the wife's Alpha out of a couple spots, and the trifecta of short riser, vertical steering, and squirrely Alpha skid had me all messed up.

Really hope to see them pull a rabbit out of a hat. I've been riding cats for 24 years now. But the writing seems to be on the wall for them lately. Hopefully they prove me wrong. Competition is good for us as riders.

All good, I’ll get my boost next year and lay the smack down on all my buddies doo turbos, just like Ive been doing on my alpha turbo this year, won’t be a big deal . I’d like to see cat get back into the fold and start competing in sales again but I just lost faith

Cat Engineer - “Eureka! We can produce a 900 turbo 200 hp on pump at all elevations and in a new light weight chassis with better boards and better intake system. We can even sell it for 18000 out the door!” Textron executive- “No, offer two new Colours and increase the price of our current sled.

Cat should keep their current 800 and not ruin it by coming out with a 900. 200cc increments is a better idea then to ruin a class with 50cc steps. Plus nothing says fuk you to Polaris and Doo like a 1000cc twin that makes 195hp n/a and 220hp with a low boost option. And in a surprise to everyone Cat will come out with new running board. Also going back to early 90’s colour theme would be awesome. They should also give the option of either a twin rail or alpha skid.

If cat does drop a turbo something .. I’d be inclined to drop my 23 SC Doo 850R. For me the cat chassis as is now has been the best for me it just works and fits me the most comfortable.
