I would stick with the Casino`s. On the other hand ,investments by any reserve in this new " hunger diet plan" are to be considered extemely high risk at this point ,with no guarantee of your principal investment being retained........

A suggestion for first nations people, maybe expend as much energy into telling us how and what you're gonna change to improve this screwed up situation , and start garnering some support back, rather than standing on the hiway , holding up the folks who are actually paying the way, whining and moaning about yesterday and demanding more monetary support with continued non accountability or responsibility. Show some initiative, some motivation, as a culture. The only pride that most ever see is verbal or written, certainly not visible by actions. I'd love to see first nations traditions and culture flourish forever, but not if It means me and my kids have to keep pouring money down the rancid hole we all have come to recognize.
oh, and get off the friggen hiway.
Maybe let's wait till each idle no more blockade is over and right after that lets set up a blockade between that reserve site and the nearest town with groceries gas and alcohol available , for a few hours to protest the protests, and let everyone know our strong views, maybe hold the reserve folks up, cause we can for a while, see how that works out for all. I say we start Saturday afternoon from 5 to 8 pm.

Giver man!

All the power to you. LOL so you think it's gonna end Saturday?? LMAO!

I'll stop by with a camcorder and make sure you make the news.. or at least youtube. Let me know where.

But remember, you have to understand the whole situation before you do such an act. You have to have a solution, and it has to make sense. It's just not that simple as protesting.

You have to have a game plan that might take a generation to work.. OR LONGER.

To just change something like this over night... is impossible. You would have a civil war.

I will see you and Lenny make fools of yourselves on Saturday then.

Anyone else in? This should be good.

Do you even know exactly what the protests are even about? Since you read the news and all....just wondering

Please enlighten me.

Man, moderators, I'm trying, hard. But when people have such an aggressive obvious agenda, and are apparently to thick or just not able to comprehend comments made tongue in cheek or in jest, it's hard to not respond.
So my question, if a guy really is actually a moron, is it a personal attack to tell them ? I actually have a t shirt with a decal " I'm sorry I hurt your feelings by calling you stupid, I thought you already knew ". It fits this situation.
And again , Sorry if I'm outside the boundaries.

I'd be satisfied with natives having equal rights. The right to pay 33% income tax, the right to pay 1.25/L for gasoline, the right to financially support their families. From hard work comes a sense of pride, I know this because I work hard and am very proud of my accomplishments and toys (2013 skid doo, truck, 69 camaro SS)

We need to stop putting these people on a pedestal and allow them to stand on their own two feet. I work with many natives in the oilfield, some are very very good at their jobs; many others are not. I have no issue with those natives who choose to work hard and support their families, in fact I enjoy working with those fellows. This corrupt system is not working.

You should go back to school and learn how to spell Ottawa. That would be your best plan before trying a blockade of your own.

I got my treaty card. Pay my 33 percent taxes.Pay the same price for gas unless i drive to a rez and support my family. The politicians are full of it on the rez just like the politicians off the rez. So i guess that makes us pretty equal.

If anyone thinks they can just 'fix' it, they should run for prime minister.

Thing is, it's quite complex, now I am not saying I know everything, or know what exactly needs to be done, but you can't just fix this tomorrow. It would take decades, Some people don't understand this. It has to be a program to teach and get the parents on board that their kids will have a better life, a better future, and go from there. Probably will never happen with our spineless government, oh well.

Sounds pretty equal to me! And you're right about all politicians being full of it.

I think everyone is born equal, it's our actions that define us as exceptional.

I wasnt going to chime in on this forum and I havent read it all, but as for the protestors, if you block a highway that is paid for from all of us in the province or country, you should be fair game to face the cold steel of my bumper smashing your skull because you are impeding my and others route of travel intentionally. If the protestors feel this is the best way to get the message to Ottawa and the politicians are crushed because of the road blockades...wrong! Your just pissing off Joe motorist who might have have a shread of support in the past for the cause, but now...forget it.

Been doing some more reading. Found an interesting blog, with a link to bill c45. Very good read, gives some food for thought.

The Misconceptions That Sparked 'Idle No More' ? Part One | A Bear's Rant

Make sure to read part two as well

Very interesting read, our provincial and federal reps in this area are of the same opinions. The problem is the same as always tho, the bleeding hearts and do gooders with half a clue, and media looking for sensational material, will jump on the bandwagon and yip about whatever they believe makes them noticed.
Again, this whole system needs a total do over, it's working mainly to the benefit of a few and it's really hard to respect those who disadvantage their own while crowing about tradition and culture.
To the many hard working motivated successful Indians, good for you, and if you are proud of your heritage,no one should be working harder or speaking louder against this than you.
For the vocal uninformed, check out an news article called the Canadian Millionaires Club, I don't know how to post it, but another intersting read.

I just read in the paper this morning that the Chiefs are vowing to Cripple the Canadian Economy and to put a halt to Resource development in Canada until they get what they want, more Revenue Sharing dollars.

That is what this whole scharade is about........more money for them- To squander, steal, and cheat away from thier own people. The Treaty Land Entitlement Money is gone, people who recieved Residential School payouts spent that money morre than likely the week they recieved thier checks.........so whats next to fund thier lazy lifestyle???? Resource revenue sharing of course.

Get ready for a battle, because Canadians are going to have to stand up and fight back on this one I think.

Why doesn't the government do financial audits of all the bands that recieve government funding. I know the hoops that we have to jump through now to get casino funds for our small town non profit groups has become more and more confusing and detail oriented.I guess they don't trust the local small town Lions Club but the Chiefs are exempt?
