Pretty sure ol Cletus would have those racist whiteys tear gassed and stuffed in a paddy wagon faster than global's helicopter could get there with a camera.
Dave Rutherford asked a question this morning...because RCMP have released a statement stating they recognize their civil right to protest and block roads and are there only to make sure things are peaceful.

How long do you think Joe Average and a group of his buddies would get away with peacefully blocking the road to your local Reserve Casino because you are against the damages Casino's cause to families.
How Long ???

I've been clicking on links all morning and have come to the conclusion that you are right .Somebody said protest and protest they did.The whole thing was started by misinformation.
They probably don't. It's quite sad. I don't think very many people really know what it's all about... Native or not.

They are probably told that they should rally... I think the news should go and interview the odd protester to see

This happened yesterday! The demo was held between 13:00 and 15:00 a time that is known not to have a very big impact on the oilsands plants shift change.
EVERYONE knows not to f&^k with the oilsands lol

they are now talking about thier next protest shutting down Hiway 63.... somehow I think this could be a suicide mission should they do so

we should send this thread to our local MLAs and have them read it and see first hand how the majority feel about the current situation. But then again probably goes on deaf ears just like every other issue concerning the long term well being of our country.

Im not racist at all, never have been BUT has anyone ever seen a homeless Asian or East Indian? Just curious.....
Can't say I have. Seen lots of homeless white people though. Anyway, I am not racist, and am married to a wonderful woman of native descent for 24 yrs. The political system is flawed on ALL levels, from the federal government right down to the local municipalities, and yes, even the bands. Some bands do a better job then others. I've worked in the patch most of my life, and I known at least a hundred natives that worked for me or beside me, worth every bit as much as their "white" counterpart, and often more, cause they are willing to work outside in cold weather. Generally, our society has gotten softer, and our workforce in the manual labor side is getting older, cause the majority of kids have been spoon fed - and don't want to work very hard. This is a generation thing, not a racial one...
Whatever happens, I hope it is resolved in a peaceful and diplomatic manner, where all parties can be somewhat happy with the end result.

It's time for the natives to live off the land like they did when the treatys were signed. No cash, no satelite TV, no health care, no vehicles, no electricty, no houses.

when they do have a house they leave the door open anyways, its a joke, they shut down roadways that WORKING people have to travel on and these wastes are closing down what funds the way for them, id cut it off its way to long overdue go out and get a job like the rest of us did started from not much and worked up where the f is my fair share no instead i get taxed

Thanks kidder,
I actually saw an Edmonton sun and it was on the front page. Wowzers!
I sure hope the Feds take that as a serious threat. Man the nerve. If I would make that threat in public, or have millions of dollars unaccounted for like spence, I would be behind bars.

I'm pretty sure what they are attempting is straight up extortion. The prime minister gives into demands to meet, and is pretty much told that he has to give them what they want, or they will destroy the economy.

I'm not exactly sure how they think they will accomplish this, other than trying to blockade enough roads to stop the flow of goods, and if it comes to that the the RCMP will have to step in and actually remove the protesters.

Unfortunately these people that are protesting are just political pawns, and will bear the brunt of the consequences should things escalate, while the Indian politicians will get off scot free.

What does eveyone else think about this. Don't we as tax payers contribute enough. I work in a industry that has to ask them to come to work and leave established contractors on the side line.
Pay them higher and receive less due to its there right.
Holding people and companys at ransom. Its only getting worse.

Have a read of this!! A little history lesson from the Globe and Mail.

You can show some NADS by emailing your MLA's, Premiers, MP's and the Primeminister. That is the only way you will get heard!! Or, we can start organizing large rally's and show our Government we are fed up!! Seems to work for the Indians! They get what they want!!

This crap has to stop... They are sucking us dry!!

This might stir up a bit of a debate...but it is food for thoughts

Leave this stuff to the Sun News Network and let's just talk about sleds here

If we quit sweeping this kind of crap under the rug or turning a blind eye we would have more cash to go riding or maybe pick up an extra sled for the family!! Just sayin!!
