Yes these frickin handouts got to stop, how in the hell we can we move forward as tax payers to keep this free ride and it is a free ride. Not only to the Indians and now Metis are going to be a part of this. Anyone including the White people that are on welfare go get a job, any buddy looking for handouts has to and should have to submit drug and alcohol samples or you are cut off. This is bullch!t. I am pissed.

I just read in the paper this morning that the Chiefs are vowing to Cripple the Canadian Economy and to put a halt to Resource development in Canada until they get what they want, more Revenue Sharing dollars.

That is what this whole scharade is about........more money for them- To squander, steal, and cheat away from thier own people. The Treaty Land Entitlement Money is gone, people who recieved Residential School payouts spent that money morre than likely the week they recieved thier checks.........so whats next to fund thier lazy lifestyle???? Resource revenue sharing of course.

Get ready for a battle, because Canadians are going to have to stand up and fight back on this one I think.

I know Lenny and I were joking on the blockade thingy but it just might be needed on roads leading to rezs. These people have no concept of reality what so ever. Underlying motivation....the white man wronged my great grandfather and I will live to make him pay, sorry but personnally I owe you nothing, but as a Canadian am willing to help with a progressive answer. Motivation and platform to move forward as set for by the drum beating chiefs that want to cripple the ecomomy....................................................................................nada except gimmie more.

Where is the action to change. I felt the farm was not for me, my miny rez, so I moved and made something of my self and I go back to visit. Living on the rez is a lifestyle choice and nothing more, if it sucks move and make something of yourself. So many have and kudos for the effort break free of the downward spiral. It was a drastic change and one repeatedly stated as no easy task by those who have done it. You will succed in maintaining your heratige - people have travelled around the world and managed to maintain theirs, don't panic.

My appologies for any spelling errors but the appology ends right friggn there

Why doesn't the government do financial audits of all the bands that recieve government funding. I know the hoops that we have to jump through now to get casino funds for our small town non profit groups has become more and more confusing and detail oriented.I guess they don't trust the local small town Lions Club but the Chiefs are exempt?

Bill has been passed, no disclosure no further funding, full disclosure period. There are a lot of excellent links posted within this thread.

I think one important thing that we can all do is take the time to contact your local MLA and let them know where you stand on this. We continue to waste our tax dollars on this, but do we do anything about it? Contacting your MLA is one thing you can do. If they feel they have enough support......who knows, they may just go out on a limb and try to change things.

reading page after page on this issue I keep getting this quote in my head :

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

Maybe it is time to start teaching the freeloaders relying on tax payers dime to start fishing.

lol....I was on a fishing trip a few years back at Graham Lake, it was miserable....raining and cold, fish weren't biting worth chit. we were huddled around the fire keeping warm and drying out some gear when a older native fella pulled up, "how's the fishin' boys?" he asked, "not worth a chit" we replied, he chuckled and says "you're using the wrong kind of hooks" we're thinking how the fawk could he possibly know what hooks we're using? so we ask him what to use and he chuckles and says "square ones...hahaha" lol....gave us a nod and drove away.

I really think Harper needs to stand up and say enough. I find the more money we give to the natives the worse off they are. If I was native I would be so incredibly rich, and not because I would be crooked, but because of the huge opportunity that is given to these people on all fronts and especially in the oilfield.

I guess the only silver lining to giving them all this free money is that they inject it back into the economy really fast.

Casinos and BINGO!!!!!!

Lots of protests going on today. What are they protesting?Do you think the people out there banging the drums know what they are protesting?

edit;just saw it on the news, they showed the protesters and mentioned Idle No More, but never mentioned a reason for all of it.

Dave Rutherford asked a question this morning...because RCMP have released a statement stating they recognize their civil right to protest and block roads and are there only to make sure things are peaceful.

How long do you think Joe Average and a group of his buddies would get away with peacefully blocking the road to your local Reserve Casino because you are against the damages Casino's cause to families.
How Long ???

They probably don't. It's quite sad. I don't think very many people really know what it's all about... Native or not.

They are probably told that they should rally... I think the news should go and interview the odd protester to see
