Good day all just would like to take a second to remind everyone to slow down when the roads are bad in BC. I am the plow truck driver that is out there 5 days a week form 5:30 till 1am every night and would hate to see a fellow snow and mudder in the ditch or worse. when you come up on the plow truck just please be patient we see you and when it is safe to pass we will shut down our Alternating lights and signal right... Another important thing is please dont try to pass on the inside if we are in the oncoming lane we are salting the high banked corners and if some one comes at us will have so move quickly back over and if its me or you your going in the ditch! I am out there to make it safe for you all to travel but we have one of the largest areas in BC to plow and limited staff at night. Also when we slow and let you pass toss on your hazards on once your by its a nice way to say thanks and its very appreciated... Rant over just dont want another plow truck wreck or someone I know to get killed or hurt when it is all avoidable drive save sledding will be here all winter and its hard to ride if you dont even make it to town!

Thanks Shifty

Great post Shifty, I also drive plow truck a little south of you. My shift starts tonight at 5pm-5am
A coulple of other tips, when there is 2 or 3 trucks gang plowing do not try to squeeze in between to pass! I see it all the time. Also when you think you can gun it and pass on the right and all you see is snow dust remember that there is usually a wing and when you do smash into it is not the plow truckers fault!
Should be a busy night.

I hate snow removal too but plowing parking lots doesnt even come close to dealing with highways. People should try being in charge of a highway such as 5n or whatever for an evening when its snowing out for a night and see how there stress level works.

So True turbo north, when you put youre signal on to turn into the emergency turnaround on the coq and some people try to pass you as youre turning into it and they almost broadside youre truck it makes you wonder..did they get there license in a box of cracker jacks?
