The rear seat accesory bag is awesome. Lets you have added storage and you can remove the seat without everthing falling into the snow. If I remeber correctly it was $69.00 from my dealer.
Looks good also.

I filled the rear storage with supplies (fire starter, a small box of tools, my Poo puller, and a few rags) and then I decided to get the book from under the seat. Everything fell on the floor…..:D

Maybe with nothing under the seat, one won't need to take it off.

You could just put everything in a plastic bag so when you take off the seat everything doesn't go everywhere

mine still has the hole? lol or am I missing a part. I have the added bag but its like a tent over the same hole?

I will slide my emergeny blanket where the manual usualy is.

I just went through this with brp plugs are considered a wear item and there is NO warranty. Only way to get plugs under warranty is something else causes them to go. Just having a plug quit working for no reason they will not look after it.


Thats your best bet. I have had the same spare plugs for the last 2 years and have never used them but would look pretty sick if one failed and didn't have a spare. 2 of my buddies have had failures but warranty is no problem as they are covered for 3 years.

Sorry to hear that. We are warranting them at the store. BRP told us they have 3 year warranty.

My 2012 was wayyyy hot with that bandaid guard!..plus the belt dust too! I ended up shimming the secondary 2 mm out to get temps down, with lots of testing and temp readings. What a joke that enclosed guard thing is. Now runs nice and belts are lasting. I ended up shimming it to the specs I did my 09 with. Take it for what it's worth.
Looks like that belt gaurd would trap a fair bit of heat?

i second that, that belt guard looks way to constrictive to me as well, big part of cooling is allowing forced air to flow threw engine compartment, not prevent it...

so how is the clutch allinment this year, anyone grab a few pictures of the secondary looking down at the primary, did they shim the jackshaft out any... any xyz measurments

I dunno about that, I did some pretty long pulls on my 12' freeride last spring, in quick succession, and I never had a problem, in fact the guys i was riding with were all surprised that i did not have an issue. I would say that cover works. But then again thats just me

I think you are confused on how the guard works Fred. It is designed to pull cool air into the clutches and evacuate the hot air more efficiently. Testing has shown it keeps the belt 30 degrees cooler than original designs. It also keeps the side panel from bending in and touching the TRA when laying the sled over on the LH side.

My wet left foot all season deffinetly proved the belt gaurd was exhausting hot air season. Well my foot wasn't really wet, but no snow was ever in my left foot well.

well if there is a heat problem the fancy shroud is the answer, but the issue at hand is if that heat should be there in the first place... eleminate the heat and no fancy guard is needed

done pulls on both my sleds where snow is deep and run wot for 30 plus seconds and be able to still put hand on either clutch for a second or so.... i have seen this same sanerio where its so hot that water is boiling off either clutch... what setup would you want

hot primary and fancy shroud........ or cool primary and gutted light belt cover

I agree. The real answer is panel venting for more money. However not everyone wants to do that or wants to spend the extra money. We already know the manufacturers can't because of the noise restrictions for new sleds so the answer for the masses is the fancy belt guard for now.
