In them hills.
I don't understand why people don't believe a clutch kit can't make a difference? The proof is in the video. Like Joey says who cares about the numbers. The lead sled left the camera sled in its snow dust. I had the opportunity back in the late 2000's to ride new product and became friends with the Doo engineering group. The head of calibration is still a friend of mine. We had some candid comments over some beers one evening. I asked him why the clutching can't be a bit more spot on? We were riding in Colorado at the time at big elevation. He told me their job is to calibrate the sled for a wide range of elevation because that is where the target audience rides, at a wide range of elevation. Can you improve your set up at 7000 ft from the factory clutching? Yes he said but that clutching will not work at 4000 ft or 10,000 ft. In essense there is no spot on clutching available from the factory for one elevation. Its not economically feasible to have 4 or 5 clutch set ups on an assembly line at this point in time. That sadly is how it works and that is why guys like Joey can cash in on the craze.
But if you have a factory turbo you can definitely tighten up the calibration.........

As far as guys that don't know how to clutch their sled buy other peoples kits go? That is true but also horsechit. Yes there are a lot of guys that don't clutch their own sleds. As long as it makes 7900 rpm they are happy making tracks in the backcountry. Hell most of those type of riders don't even know they have clickers or know how to set their belt tension. I know how to clutch sleds. But if guys like Joey are gonna test and test and test and build a great kit for $200-$300 that flat out works I'd just rather buy it than waste mine and my buddies time hauling parts and tools on the hill and changing out parts while everyone licks up all the good pow. Been there done that years ago. Missed a lot of good riding back then wrenching on the hill.

Why do you think Ski Doo made their clutches with clickers? so you can adjust your RPMS for different elevations and snow conditions. and they are easy to add weight or take weight away if you need to, all made easy to adjust. no other clutch has that ability. first of all those are not the same sleds in that video. one is a turbo and one is NA. did you think it was the clutch kit that made the difference? that`s funny.

Maybe we can get better clarification from Joey on what the 2 sleds in the video were? I was under the assumption it was 2 850T's running each other? Besides that I still stand behind my remarks.

IDK what altitude the sleds have been compared at.

There is only and handful of 850t owners on this thread, at least one on here has shared his experience with DJ’s product.
The others, How many combos have you tried already to justify the comments Im reading.
Changing a primary spring, and adding weight to the primary, hardly justifys some of the comments I’m reading.
Have you ran DJ’s clutching in the 850T or actually changed out the secondary calibration to find a better setup?
Doo sends out a setup that works for the general population. Jeeze even Kuster said in a interview there is alot left on the table in the clutching dept, when the interviewer asked him.

Joe has posted probably the best comparison Vids on this site, not only showcasing his product, but actually showing the difference the recalibration made.
