As the title suggest, anyone out there getting anywhere close to high mileage on their 850 doo's? There was lots of 800 Etecs that broke the 10k mark, but I don't personally know anyone with an 850 that has come close to that mark without getting motor work and in most cases a new shortblock.

I freshened an 18 with 5,000km, not real hard miles but no sissy riding. Piston to cylinder was .002 over spec & crank run out zero. Replaced the pistons & left the bottom end alone.

800 E TEC driven the same way most likely would not have made the same mileage. If by fluke it was still running the piston to cylinder clearance would be tape measure stuff. The crankshaft would be so far out of spec it would be eating the drive clutch. Crank shaft run out is generally .002-.0045 @ best with under 3000km.

11k on my '17
Engine lasted until 7200
Primary chucked an arm off at 4000
On my third track
Broke the helix in 3 pieces 2 days ago
Break a skid torsion spring every season
Changed a few bearings.
Other than the engine that happened 2k from the truck, never been towed out.

Yup. I got 32xx on mine now waiting to put an engine in it. Maybe brp has a problem tying to stay loyal to them but wow makes a guy think about switching

Buddie has a 2020.5 turbo with 5200km and still running. It did not have a nice life, and shows it. But its still running. Same guys 2021 turbo is on it's second engine at 5400km, although he is really hard on equipment. I'm thinking anything over 4000km a guy should be thinking about the top end getting refreshed.

Was watching Muskoka Freerider offseason vids. In one he was talking to a client that had 17k on an 850 Renegade, original motor.

My 19 cracked a cylinder at 3200km, got a new top end under warranty from brp. They even rented me a turbo for 3 days due to the month long delay to replace the engine. All hard mountain miles, but the sled was never overheated on the trails or anything, I'm careful there

4100 km and skirt broke off, I know of three others with 4000km with similar piston skirt failures
