Before the 850 got into consumer hands Doo was claiming lower than 800 oil consumption. We all know that didn't come to be. They drink that $90/jug elixir. By all reports the turbki is even thirstier. It's become a significant part of a rides expenses. Maybe all that oil isn't being directed to the right locations.

read the fine print lol. its all marketing. The 850 etec does have lower oil consumption thatn the 800 if your cruising at 30kmh on a groomed trail

I think proper warm ups all day. Not just leaving the truck plays a giant roll in skirt life. How many times have you seen a group dig someone out of a tree for a half hour. Then there’s sleds already wide open before they’re hardly idling.
I generally always try to put my helmet on and what not while sled idles

Yep. Warm up is a big part. My sleds don’t move at all until the cooler is warm to the touch. Never had an issue. See tons ( maybe most) people pull into the lot, whip open the trailer door, fire up the sleds and immediately move them out. Thats still like 4500-6000 Rpm even just “taking it easy”. 🤷🏽

Seen lots of cool kids kids in -20C temps unload their sleds jump on and pin it up the trail. I pass them about 5km up with a squeaked piston
