I can understand not knowing about the V10, heck there was only a few thousand of them made, but there are SO many 5.9's in 2002 around.

And so far you have actually found ZERO. SHOW ME ONE, not in some press release, and actual built and sold version.

Cyle, just add him to your ignore list, obviously he was one of the troublemakers over from SW that made his way here.

I looked at a couple of '02 1500 with a 5.9L a few years ago. They do exist, and you're right Cyle, there's lots of them. The V10 is new to me, but, they are there with a little looking.

So i just joined this site because i was researching my truck and came across this forum. My truck is a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 5.9L... just thought i would share that.

2002 is the first year of the new Ram, it was also a overlap year for the 5.9L and the 5.7L. Before the 5.7L there was a 5.9L and a 5.2L so they made things easy and went with a hemi rather than offering both. So early in 2002 you could get a 5.9L and later on you could get the 5.7L.
hope i helped.

Baldry.

So what transmission would have came with that 03 2500 truck with the 360? would it be the same as the 1/2 ton trucks? Just something to look into dodge is notorious for making transmissions that are seriously underbuilt even though the 360 might not have the much power the tranmissions still seem to not stay together i would imagine if it has much over 100 km that is has been rebuilt just hope that it was done properly and enought parts were changed. Other then that the 360 is a rock solid kinda dog of a motor not that great on fuel but will go and go.

i have a 2001 360 2500

motor is indestructable i have 270,000km never any problems. tansmission is still solid.

as far as hauling it works fine. not great but 2 sleds wouldnt be a problem.

ive hauled alot of cars and it pulls fine. up hills cant really speak for that. and passing is out of the question.

but if your serious into hauling your getting a cummins anyways.

the 360 is the only engine i havent been able to kill. ive had 3 from 85-2002
