Shes been pretty good the past few days. Gravel in the skid is pitting shock bodies tho. lol
We need it to freeze to valley bottom soon. Preserve the little snow we have low down.
Happy New Year and safe sledding

tell me about it! Rode 2 days before Christmas.

Brand new skid and shock springs looks like it was sandblasted and is now all rusted. 👎

Solar powered and there's been two sunny days in the last two months.
True, but there are lots of others solar powered cams in the area that manage to reliably function. You would think that such a large operation would be more organized. I recall a member here in the biz saying he offered to help and they turned him down. Whatever, It's not that important, I only ride boulder a couple days a season anyway and RMR has several to look at. Just felt like bitching about something. lol

I'm mainly interested in the weather/visibility. I live 1.5 hours southwest and use the cams to help determine if it's worthwhile to drive to our good weather only spots.
Sometimes it's just entertaining to see the zoo too. That reminds me, what happened to that Sasquatch snow gauge they had made last spring? I thought they were going to put it in front of a cam.

Supposed to be making a 20hr+ drive to ride the 13-17th. Sounds like the snow is really good now, but the forecast looks mild and relatively dry. Anyone have thoughts on how things will be holding up by the 13th?

Snow has definitely settled but it’s still good. Hero snow for climbing with some blower downhill face shots. Lots of traffic with the holiday and into the weekend. we have been needing to get creative already to get away from the tracks. I personally think by the 13th you’re going to be hard pressed to find a lot of fresh unless you really know where to go. This high pressure ridging looks like a classic January cok block of any storms for the next 7-10 days

They added wifi at the cabin this year which will take a further toll on the battery bank. They could likely use another 1000-1500w of solar input to get the reliability factor improved. We are talking <$2k worth of panels and wiring to make that happen. Maybe a touch more depending on what they have in place for a solar charge controller.

Its pretty obvious the camera that provides zero riding or weather conditions is not a club priority. Use ski hill or hiway cams if you want up to date pics.
