Seen it myself today. This thing is fawked. Second groomer still there. I’m assuming it’s broken. We thought maybe it was hooked up like an anchor so I can’t fall in the lake. But I don’t see them ever leaving that other groomer. I’m assuming it’s broken too. The thing is at the farthest spot they groom too. behind Alex’s old cabin. Not gonna be easy or cheap

If it’s where I think it is they would be better off getting a huge Sikorsky like someone said in to get that to the parking lot. They have some serious inclined to pull it up to get the the downhill portion of the adventure

Valley snow they will run the boulder groomers over and up. 2-3 kitties pushing and filling some of those hills so more gradual Then hook up. Wfo and don’t look back lol

The current heavy lift champ is the Chinook. The CH47D model will pull about 18,000lbs @ 8,000 feet. They out-lift and outperform at altitude the S-64 that you are thinking of. There are none in Canada, but they do pass near or work in BC occasionally. If one was in the neighbourhood, I estimate you'd be looking at $250k minimum if everything went well. That said...
Hard to tell, but that groomer looks like a BR350. They're 18,000lbs+, plus all the snow, ice and mud. So it's not going to happen. Sure, you could strip it down, but it would need to be out to do that, and getting it un-stuck is the hard part.

Once they get it out and the tracks rolling, towing would be a non issue imo.

They have multiple snowcats. They just need the right rigging and someone who knows how to use it.

Looks like it's half out compared to the other pics anyway, so they are making progress.

When the Olympic ski team was training on Farnham glacier they flew 2 cats in. Detracted and no blade.

There aren't any S-64's in W Canada anymore either. They were sold last year.
