Is there any interest in trying to put together a group buy for the upcoming snowcheck?

I bet if we could get together 50-100 sled orders on a spreadsheet we could get some decent pricing.

Thoughts?

Call a dealer and ask if that works.
Then get the people.
I would likely be in.
48 to go lol.....
There is a thread in snow west all about this.

I have 4 in my group right now.

If I can get some more serious people to pm me exactly what they want I will shop it around.
10+ sleds of the same brand would probably would probably be a good start.

The plan is to put together a spread sheet, leave out the names and hoar it around for quotes from from different dealers.

I imagine if there is $250,000 in one order then there will be some leverage.

Once a deal is reached, put the names on each build in the spreadsheet and resend to the dealer with the winning bid. Dealer calls you to pay for your order directly, I don't touch any money.

Other thing to negotiate will be discount on accessories, oil, ect.

I love this plan. Too bad I’m not going to be able to snowcheck this year or I’d be throwing my name on the list.
However, let’s find out how well this works as I may be snowchecking in 2022. Can probably turn this into a annual thing.

Are you also going to pass the sheet to the BC dealers? As a lot of Albertans ride Revy/Sic it wouldn’t be a bad thing buying out west as well. I’m all for buying local and supporting local, but with BRP dropping Ecko id be more inclined with the lowest price. Lol

I really like the idea, but I think it's going to be hard to get 50 committed buyers to get the pricing. What would happen if out of the list of 50 only 10 buy?

Does anyone know what room there would be on pricing? If I decide to buy I'd be in on this, but I can't justify driving to Edmonton or further to pick up the sled just to save a couple hundred bucks.

Going to be interesting to see how much savings this is going to be ?
How dealers will treat this that don’t sell the sleds when warranty and repairs are needed ?
I can bet they will be watching this thread ?!! LOL
So far they are being quite .

You need to pick a manufacturer to work with not a dealer. Retail margin at dealer might get you a few hundred off, find your manufacturer rep of choice get a booking and deposit on 50+ sleds you might get a bite.

BRP would not undersell their dealers. Won't work. Be prepared to lose your deposit as well if you back out on your snowcheck. In my experience when I was selling 10 guys do a group buy you are lucky to see 5 actually buy when the sleds show. I finally started quoting this is the price for 10, this is the reduction for every sled that drops out. Let the group police themselves on buying.

I think service is far more important than saving +/- $500 - $1000. I seem to find when you take your sled to a dealer that you didn't purchase the sled from you definitely do not get the same service. Im guessing if i was the service manager and there was 5 sleds in the shop, i would be making sure the guys who purchased them there, got theirs back first.

Just an observation.

There was no better example of that than H20 Motorsports in Sicamous when he was a dealer. If he saw a dealer decal from Alberta the afternoon fix turned into 2 weeks.
