I wonder what corporate sponsors like Zalas and the hotels and businesses that support the Club financially think about “thinning the herd”? Less people spending money in the town has gotta be concerning for them I would think

Rumours running here is:

Ski hill on boulder
Thin the herds…
People on the club in support of both

Yea… find this one really hard to believe unless there really employees of the Soros foundation!

Just spoke with a person pretty close to the club. Sounds like there are some parties that would really like to change things for all the users, as to try to get less sledders coming to Revy. I don't know the person involved, but do know Brad Mcstay very well. For a group of people to blind side him and Ron Laroy would take a special kind of person. From the chit chat around camp fire, it sounds the these individual's are wanting to thin the herd in Revy by jacking the membership cost to keep it somewhat exclusive, as well as get rid of any corporate sponsorship. I'm sure all of us would like to see a few less people on the hill and in the parking lot, but this seems a little more malice.

This seems all to fishy, as the last couple years have brought record revenue to club? So why get rid of the people who have broke their back for the club for the last 20+ years? If anyone wants to have their vote of who we want in charge of the club, you can simply buy a non-rider membership for $25.00 and I believe there is a online zoom meeting any member can attend on Thursday May 26th. I will try to get a little better intel, and update when i get something. I would definitely get on board with voting, because once some things are in place they can be extremely hard to undo.
Just a heads up.
Posting here say information without truthful facts could lead to legal litigation, just so you are aware.
I am just putting it out there. A person can open themselves up for a very serious law suit.
by posting what they think, rather than facts.

I dont think, I would be posting any information without first knowing all the facts from all parties involved or their lawyers.
Yes, I do know this went thru lawyers.
Just saying..

Thats kinda why I said previously that this is not a public matter or to be posted on public forums....
But do as you wish.....

Thanks for the heads up. I am not too concerned about it. Guessing the truthful facts will present themselves soon enough.

Agree - I think the issues should be kept within the club themselves and not here on the forum. I wish these issues could be worked out easier. This is the 4th club that I have seen have major issues on the board and create division within the club. As noted, it would take a lot to amount to a defamation or libel case. There is no public naming in that post and the affected party has to demonstrate that there has been serious impact to their rep or business, enough to amount to more than the lawyer fees to sue someone for either case. Typical to see lawsuits brought to court when someone is making statements about other people conducting criminal activities or there is some effect on their livelihood, enough to warrant the lawsuit.

The Board should have insurance to cover the Directors, in the event there is some serious issue. In cases of personal conflict or disagreement of opinions, I've never seen it needed.

All that being said - Revy has been prompted as the sledding mecca and you've got guys like Muskoka who are broadcasting the livestyle far and wide. There are some inherent "sacrifices" that people make to live a small town mountain lifestyle. The (direct or indirect) showcasing of that lifestyle is now becoming a detriment to it and therein lies the struggle. Particularly with the last few years and the influx of many people during COVID to the sport, there are more people on the hill than ever before, inevitably there will be conflicts. Many people who are there "making content" for their channel or running riding clinics in the winter, well....its about those decisions. - how do you attract people for your (example) business but not attract them so that it impacts your lifestyle? Its always been about striking that balance.

We went through this as well. Voted in a new president who had big plans to make Radium the next destination. Good intentions but did not realize our volunteer base is small, our managed area is small and was already at maximum capacity for parking etc.
Easy to get people to come to your area, very hard to deal with the masses after that without the proper resources.

I am starting a petition on behalf of concerned members of the Revelstoke Snowmobile Club (RSC). This is our written request for a Special Meeting to gather information regarding the removal of three directors on two separate occasions and to determine if the current directors of the club have been following the required Code of Conduct as set forth in the RSC Bylaws.

There are approximately 900 RSC members and we need at minimum 5% of the membership, 45 active members to ensure the club allows the members the right to ask questions and decide on the future of the club. The more members we have sign the more serious the current board will have to take this petition.

Please only sign the petition if you are an active member of the Revelstoke Snowmobile Club.

Please sign the petition at the attached link.
