I am starting a petition on behalf of concerned members of the Revelstoke Snowmobile Club (RSC). This is our written request for a Special Meeting to gather information regarding the removal of three directors on two separate occasions and to determine if the current directors of the club have been following the required Code of Conduct as set forth in the RSC Bylaws.


There are approximately 900 RSC members and we need at minimum 5% of the membership, 45 active members to ensure the club allows the members the right to ask questions and decide on the future of the club. The more members we have sign the more serious the current board will have to take this petition.

Please only sign the petition if you are an active member of the Revelstoke Snowmobile Club.

You are fully aware of the April meeting and what transpired as you were there.
As I had requeseted and reviewed the April minutes and you are documented as being in attendance.
Please fill in everyone as to exactly what happened and what exactly this petition is about.

Do you have proof (documentation) to provide as to the exact reason for this petition?
Would be great to see it before signing any petition?

What are you planning to do? What is your full agenda with the petition?

I may be willing to join the crusade, but not for things that are not proven or forward moving goals not being published..

There must have been a reason you were appointed to the board at this meeting?
Shows you as an interm director. Please fill us in.
Or is that a breach of "Code of conduct" for the club that you signed?

The events that have transpired post the April meeting that I attended is where the club directors have not kept the club membership in the loop. The cancellation of the last meeting, could have provided both sides with much needed information in order to move forward. I had been reached out to by several members and chose this was the best way to move forward. If there is nothing to hide then it should be a non issue.

We have over 30 people signed up already on the petition which is sometimes more than even vote at the AGM, I hear. It seems the members want to know what’s going on.

I chatted with one of the directors yesterday and decided to pull my nomination for a director at a directors meeting I heard was happening last night. I was concerned about joining board until I understood what was/is going on.

If you want to talk about fishy, I find it very fishy when the board cancels an open meeting to have a private one for themselves, if that is what transpired.

Nonetheless it will be good to hear what is going on and lots of members would like to know as well.

So the April meeting says you were voted in for Interm Director.....Was that for one meeting only?
How can you be a director and then all of the sudden be pulling a nomination yesterday?
Why would you pull your nomination if you were already a director?
Very weird, never seen or heard of that before.

Or are you no longer there as a director? Why did you get removed?
Are the minutes of that meeting doctored up and you were not a director?


I would agree with post April meeting something happened, but fill us in what happened at the April meeting to cause this.

I have served on many boards.
Just a heads up and a little help.
The bylaws of who you are requesting a special meeting should have a clause that states
"Members can use a petition to request a special meeting" or very similiar ......

Otherwise these petitions go nowhere, do not get answered or enacted.

I can tell you that there is not to many boards that allow petitions to be used in there bylaws.....
For many obvious reasons.

Check there bylaws, it will clearly state if you can use a petition.
These so called petitions also must have valid names with the signature of the petitioner.
Most electronic ones, do not contain the "Ink to paper" signature.
