Re: 2019 release dates ??

I'm not sure the decision makers at brp care about sleds that climb nasty chutes. I think they concentrate on high volume high margin products like Side by sides, sea doos, trail sleds, and mountain sleds that can carve sic donuts in Meadows as flat as Taylor Swift's butt. A freeride likely costs 5% more to produce than a summit sport yet they can pocket double. A turbo unit would actually cost a lot more and sledders would are not going to pay $30,000 for one. Some would. I would not. New Cage cluster for 2019, new skid for 2020.

Thinking Polaris will be the only big change for any of the big 4 this snow check season.

I don’t know, I think they have a good package now and will want to go with a “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” marketing

Factory turbo is a $3k price adder basically if you look at the Sidewinder, and I bet there is easily a 50% margin.

Turbos are not just for chutes anymore.....imo

No they're not. In 2 feet of snow 120hp or w/e these have at 6000 feet isn't enough. But does Jose Boisjoli know this?

We’re not hearing much from areocharger. Maybe there’s a reason? Speculation is the best part of this thread.

Yeaaaaa throw some more gas on this fire. Haha. How about a triple for for Polaris. Has technology come far enough? I know we talk about it every year.

Re: 2019 release dates ??

When i complained last year about how let down i was by brp with my 850
i got called out even had my entire thread pulled, if i coulda afforded it i woulda been on a dif sled this year didnt want to sell it private and was offered 9 on trade for it. I lost my confidence in the sled not much fun rididng when all u wonder is what or when it will go boom. Had to pay for my bulk head brace ontop of all the down time i had last year was never mad at the dealer it was a issue with brp but some guys only see one colour and are blinded and will defend it to the end

900 ace turbo already exists in the Maverick. If I were to speculate about a factory turbo power plant, this seems the most likely to me.
I personally don't see the market for it, but I know nothing about the trail segment.

Bold first post. You clearly dont understand the landscape here yet. The thread title is just a starting point to get a discussion going. It can, and often does go anywhere after that.

Re: 2019 release dates ??

I was at the Yamaha dealer in Kelowna on Friday and the salesman told me that they will have a "bigger" track on the sidewinder for 2019. Said he had seen it in their shop in person but couldn't go into detail. He probably just saw Lund's sled in the shop LOL.
