500 km in 2 days ? Between switching riding and screwing around I find that hard to believe that’s 3 tanks of fuel a day

The units showed up to vale with abut 700 miles ( US machines) and at the end of Sunday they where around 975 so not far off from the 500KM quoted.

100 miles a day sure. In Revy it’s 10 I’m of trail to the cabin. If your doing 500 km in 2 days while doing demos you would have to bring a fair amount of extra fuel and be lined up like a pit crew to swap and riding easy terrain. Lots of miles usually means easy terrain and or ****ty snow. I can burn 2 full tanks of fuel in a day and not see any where close to 250 km you got a bit of exaggeration going on

I know the second and 3 day in revy they were hauling more fuel up... the first day they only took one fuel can up, as mentioned we gave up one full 3.1 gal can off the back of Dales sled and refilled again twice from our sleds and gave that up to ensure the rides kept going. that's quite a bit of fuel burnt.. they were doing decent 15-30 minutes demo rides for, I know that they never stopped for very long all day... starting 8-430-5 it was supposed to stop at 3 however the line up was never ending and am confident there was a lot of sneak it riders that signed up last minute..!!! Alpha did not disappoint - I never heard any negative feed back, other than " I want another a ride" handled amazing, and very easy to sidehill, climbed better than expected, I believe the track and pitch upgrade were definitely factors.. cant wait to have one for a whole day!

250kms can be done in a day. I haven’t, but have Doo friends that have skidded extra fuel into Eagles and put on over 200

Even this season, bumper deep on my 2016 cat, tank right full and 12 extra litres I got 3 days on where we logged 100-130kms, fuel light flashing as we loaded onto deck in only 4 hours of riding hard

I ride lots of days 100 plus km but and lots were shorter days but not switching groups and not 250 like that it ain’t happening

okay give it up..... whether they logged 10km or 250km per day...... it doesn't matter and that's not what this thread is about.

They did change the throttle block from the 18’. It seems to have a little stiffer pull than the 18’. I hope they keep the throttle block like the 18’ it’s a little easier to finesse.

Thanks for the feed back on the Alpha, A/C hit this one out of the park (imho). This sled will be the mountain leader for A/C and they will sell. Great news for A/C ,dealers and of course the end users. I know a lot of guys are happy with the new tether, the ones at the Edmonton show still had the TSS with the tether. Is this the way the 19 will come with both?
On a side note the demo ran for 8 to 8.5 hours, lets say 7 hours of riding time at 20 miles per hour average, 140 miles = 225 kms so 250 a day is quite doable. I believe both the riding time and speed are conservative. Just remember math is really hard for some of us and hater will hate.

I have an 18 Mtn Cat 162. I spent about 30min on the 165 and 20min on the 154 in Revy. It was super tracked where we were riding them. In the soft snow I didn’t think the alpha was any easier to lean over and sidehill than my mtn cat. However both alphas had really stiff front suspension and I run my mtn cat really soft so I’m sure that had something to do with it. On hardpack/rutted sidehills I could creep along without any trouble holding the line. Couldn’t feel the ruts at all in the rear end. There was a noticeable difference in how quick the alphas got up on the snow compared to my mtn cat (which I thought was really good anyways). Felt like more traction on the alphas but again this could be suspension set up. And I noticed the throttle pull on the alphas is quite a bit harder than my mtn cat. I felt the 154 was more squirrelly than the 165 but it still got up on the snow quickly. All in all I was happy with it and glad I snowchecked a 165

Missed the demo ride in Revy but saw the Alpha on display at the Silverstar hillclimb yesterday so hopped on for the "customary but doesn't tell you much" pull over test. It comes on edge very easy and felt like it had a massive balance point. With the sled on edge the track stays very flat and contacted to the snow. It's easy to see why guys are saying the traction is so impressive. I hopped on the G4 freeride right after and it pulls the track out of the snow at a much lower angle when on edge and doesn't feel as balanced, it's a bit more flat footed.

So who all switched over from Ski-Doo to Team Alpha 1st year test pilot...? I did. Who's ready to lay a hurting on some G4's... ? I for 1 am sick of pulling them outta back country. Skidoo makes a bunch of bandaids on a 21K sled, Arctic is out there actually changing the game and improving things year to year... Stoked to go green and purple.

Yes it is going to be an exciting winter .

Hey not to be picky but can we move this kind of going to get controversial stuff back to the G4 section if it is going to beat up on G4's.

Cat section is pure and untainted, let's keep it that way. It is all business and no BS here.
I'll post the regular comparsons over there also this winter.
