Well if your offering???? haha which tell “braaapit” on instagram to message me maybe we could go on a trip later on year bit tied up for the next month
I’ll be working I believe then, home until January 3rd and not back until January 13/14th. And Braaapit is gone from December 28th - February22nd travelling Asia so I’ll need some riding partners for sure. Especially Sidewinder guys!
Saving money right now for a ring lol... so tight for sled funds thing winter. Hopefully we could figure a trip out maybe early feb I have another guy who’s always down with a new 850 175 aswell
The sled trip was a bust for me 19hrs of driving for 10kms of riding (red/black)
But for the other 4 guys with me it was a blast 2-3’’’ of fresh untouched all day all 4 days. Nice pics and a couple videos. I got to ride a grand total of 10kms trouble free and then an unfortunate mechanical failure. Will have details once she’s all fixed and ready for another trip. Going just after Christmas to Mcbride most likely.
My buddy loved his Stage 4 setup and rode all 4 days trouble free until the last day he borrowed it to a friend and said friend hit a rock bending a few parts.
The BOV and intake worked awesome and sounded even better. Stage 4 pulls the ski’s anytime you want it too. He’s adding secondary spring from Thunder Products and some Venting aswell to cool the temps a bit.
Well apparently on my first ride to mcbride I must have hit something and cracked chain-case, dumped all the oil on the mountain at the end of the last day there. Didn’t notice anything riding, no oil on the enclosed trailer or my garage floor. Sled sat for a month before my next trip to trout lake.
I topped up coolant, tightened track, checked engine oil, and every other little check I normally do. I looked at the sight glass on chain case but didn’t really check it up close for level. Loaded sleds up and headed out. Got sleds unloaded ripped up the trail 3-5kms and noticed a ratcheting/skipping kind of feeling. Headed back down tightened track went for a rip back up trail same thing, did this 2 more times until track was eliminated as the issue. Loaded back up drove to hotel called Argyl and explained the issue. Belts fine, tracks fine, tightened the chain tensioner bolt to spec and that seemed to fix it. Went back to unload and rode up to the alpine everything was smooth and skipping went away.
Well 1 bowl back the skipping started again and that’s when I shut it down and had to be towed out and limped sled back to trailer and then loaded up and drove home 19hrs in 2 days of driving all because I didn’t check the chain-case. Figures.
End result replace everything in the chain-case because it all got hot, hot and the chain just kept stretching but it held together long enough to limp it to the trailer. Clearly won’t be leaving my garage again until everything has be checked and adjusted correctly.
Large Repair Bill coming soon. Sleds @ dealer and parts ordered should be fixed by December 22nd. Ryan@Argyl and Randy @ Yamaha have been awesome with info and help thus far. They cannot really do anything for me but my sled was brought in the next morning and parts ordered ASAP. All a guy can ask for in a situation like this. Live n Learn.
I'm sorry to hear your misfortune, that really suck's.
That is one of the biggest problem with dropped and rolled chain cases, they become very vulnerable and not just the case but driver's and axles.
I have bent my fair share of them.
You need to fab or get armor under the chain case. We use to make them from 3/16 aluminum plating and bolt them in.
The case cover on these are very brittle and will not take much of a hit to crack or break. Unlike older sled case covers.
