Popping a clutch belt every 250miles. How do you make these things not blow belts like a Polaris or 17/18 doo 850?
Crazy. I’ve been a belt blower for years too. On axys and 850 doo. Now I have 2 cats and no issues. Each cat machine has way over 2000 km on original belt.

You are on the sled that most would say is easiest on belts. Doo the worst. Take a break once in a while and save yourself some $$$.

My old King Cat would right side bog. Very annoying. My Alpha is fine unless the hood is piled solid.

I’m trying 18/50 gearing this weekend. Will let you know how it works. Should help with belt temps.

Didn't like the 52 bottom?
The new chain on the 52 stretched quite a bit and left zero on the tensioner. I liked the ratio so trying the lite weight BDX 50 bottom. 18/50 gives 2.78 ratio so should pull really good. Guys are running 18 top tooth without boost with good success so we will give it a go.

Even a 19 tooth is getting to small . IMO
I could never run that small unless you go with Hyvo chain and gears .

Sled was pulling 5600-6500 rpm in deep snow. I think my exhaust valves could be messed up.

I have only heard of one doo belt failing on a 2020 and it went at 1800km.

Got a new primary clutch. That sorta helped. Only pulling 7600 now. Secondary tool won’t open the secondary clutch. Anyone ever have this happen?

Your rollers are over in the reverse side of the helix. Just run it forward a bit.

Hmmm this was after 10km of trail with no reverse. Tried 2-3 more times and still couldn’t get the tool to open the sheaves.

Ah. That is unusual. I've heard of helixes bending and jamming the rollers but that affects further out on the shift. Time for disassembly.

On my 16 m8000, the c-clip that hold the roller on popped off, that caused some strange shifting issues. The roller never fully fell off but the c-clip and thrust washer did some damage to the helix and rollers.

Yeah I think so. I have a crack developing on the outside as well so maybe I’ll just get a new one on warranty. Stole one from a buddies sled so I’ll see if that solves my rpm problems.

Swapped secondary and still only pulling 7500rpm. I did get 8200rpm at low elevation where it should have been over reving. My next guess is engine compression is low.
