close up with a fisheye lens. distorts the actual image to the point that things look bent. Check out the Fox floats. If those don't bind I don't know what will.
That is clearly photoshopped.
The rear skid was on the snow bike shown at Haydays, we'll likely see it on the production bike if it is released in March.Has anyone seen this??View attachment 194775

Is Arctic Cat Planning a New Mountain Suspension? - Snowmobile.com
Looks interesting!
Looks like possibly AirFrame Boards to me??

I would assume a C-tec, as that little 6000 is a bottle rocket. But I have no more information than you guys at this point :/
We have a little wish list; a dedicated mountain chassis, a new tunnel design with something like air frame boards factory, factory tethers, 800+ cc C-tec (we don't think their new 2-stroke engine will be an 800 - we're expecting larger cc, likely to hit a target HP rating)
I *feel* that we're going to get upgraded tunnel/running boards:
- Cat had a blow out on their air frame boards and the new mountain bumper recently, which sometimes happens when they get rid of stock for an upcoming chassis change
- and something that one of my sales reps said then quickly corrected himself when I reminded him that we didn't know what the 2017 models would hold
- if that patent photo is legit, it looks a lot like the profile of an airframe board, I know its a quick sketch, but they've included the updated front spindles on it as well?
I was just told by the Cat dealer in Kelowna that the 2017 Cat is coming with a whole new motor for 2017. That the old 800 had done its time.
It will be a 180+hp and direct injected Suzuki power. It will rival BRP's etech. The chassi will basically in most part remain the same with only minor changes.
He did not elaborate on displacement but it will probably be an 850.
It'll work fine on a sled - weight wise we stand to lose 6-10 lbs over current designs while retaining strength due to the thicker beam. I can envision a rounded style powerclaw track to go along with it - all you'd have to do is turn your head and the sled would lay over. Refinement and competition is what sells to the masses, unless the public has it's head in the sand (or snow). I'm very stoked to see what AC (and the other manufacturers) are bringing for 2017 - all have been steadily improving the sleds - 10 years ago I never would have though we'd have machines that can do what they can today - I only wish I was 20 years younger to take full advantage of their capabilities...I did see that on a Euro forum somewhere when I google searched the image. This might be ignorant, but if it works in a snowbike, why wouldn't it work on a full size snowmobile too?
Although they do make it a lot easier for us old fawks to ride!10 years ago I never would have though we'd have machines that can do what they can today - I only wish I was 20 years younger to take full advantage of their capabilities...
Whens the Cat reveal Mr T&T?Hmm so I'm wishing for a 950 2 stroke - direct injection- naturally aspirated 200 hp , mountain model aptly named the King Cat ..... Right it down folks....
