That’s all it was. We helped him get his sled out of the creek. Dragged it all the way to the top so the chopper could pick it up. Tried 4 other g4 dess keys, sled would run but wouldn’t drive.

The things some peps post eh??

Was huge slide and am amazed that someone could actually survive. Slide was basically end to end of area.
A lot of trees beat up and broken.
Maybe signage should change.

"Extreme avalanche hazard area. Off path riding WILL result in avalanche. Single sled passage only".
Maybe a bigger sign with the number of peps hit buried died in the last 5 years - something to drive message home.

There is already a sign in place that should be adequate but......
Area can be crossed safely if not played in.

My riding partner clipped a tree and pulled one of the upper vents out.
We had to take the upper council off to get the repair done.
Nothing better than having the right tools for the job.

A week of stormy weather is forecasted for the area and that means fresh snow!

Mid-week is a great time to get out and avoid the hustle and bustle of the weekend. If you do venture out to play, please stick to low angle terrain and avoid any overhead exposure as high winds and new load will increase the avalanche hazard. Good news is that you choose the terrain you ride in, and enjoying this new snow safely is an easy task, but it does require you to make proper terrain choices.

Big thanks to everyone for the cooperation in the Clemina area in respect to the alternate trail due to logging. We have had great compliance, please lets keep it up.

Nother slide in avalanche valley today. What else is new. Remotely triggered didn't run far nor was the fracture particularly wide but let's all just agree to chill for a bit, k? Snow report... 6 inches over the weekend traffic over night. More in places. Warm heavy stuff. Good for snowballs, if that's your thing.

There are just some things that we can't help.
If people can't understand basic warnings, and basic signs, then you can't help them.

Perhaps you can hang out at the entrance every day and inform everyone of what the "avalanche alley" signs mean. That might work.

I have learned in my day that people will do whatever they want to do and don't use common sense. God can only help them. It's like eating tide pods. Natural selection will only make our race stronger. If the warning label says imminent death and they do it... Let them eat.

I just said he won against Russian roulette. The signs are there, He risked other's safety by creating this mess. I have every right to say he is't the sharpest knife in the block.

Obviously ALL of them CHOSE where they went that day.....but to call them "stupid" or "not the sharpest knife in the drawer" is a little short sighted. All I am stating is we weren't there.....please don't make disparaging comments about the mental capacity of those involved. I am sure we have all made mistakes in our lifetime that could have/should have resulted in less than stellar results.

They got very lucky and im glad they are ok.
Hopefully the lesson they learned can be shared in a AST course.

Conditions are good.

Pointing out super obvious mistakes other made isn't going to help anyone. People have been trying this for years with the false intention to end needles avalanche deaths. and yet here we are. Getting bummed out when 'natural selection' doesn't do its job is an insane take. The take of an insane person.

I was with the guy who got buried.

We have been sledding for years but were not that familiar with allen creek. I really wish we had ridden past the sign or knew about that hills reputation. But we didn't. We dropped in through the trees directly across the creek at the bottom of the valley and did not see the sign or get a good respect for the hill from that angle.

Anyways, we decided to get to a better spot before stopping and having lunch. On the way up my buddy took a poke at the hill, and you guys can figure out the rest. The snow made it abundantly clear that was stupid, so please anybody reading this learn from our mistakes. There was already a few tracks from that morning on the hill so somebody out there got away with it. Not that it matters but he was wearing the tether too, it just broke away during the slide.

We did not buy lotto tickets... figured we have already won. Really appreciate everybody who helped us out that afternoon, you wont catch us on terrain like that ever again.
