I have zero cooling problems with the Nytro, in fact my M8 will heat up first before my Nytro. A rad delete is not a simple mod. It has to be done properly to work effectively.
My Nytro runs CR extreme boards that the coolant runs through and a rear U cooler and bulk head cooler. I have ran this year on hard pack snow most of the season with no issue with cooling. Can't say that about many other sleds out there.
The weight you save is more then just a radiator but includes a cooling fan and it's mounting and the fluid, all concentrated on the front. A rad delete is not a weight saving mod but distributes the weight low over the entire chassi where it belongs.
As for snow and ice build up, the Nytro would fill up with snow and ice, the U cooler cut that by well over 50%. Unless your sled tunnel is coated the snow will build and stick and how much it does depends a lot on the type of snow that day.

Yes LBZ the heat eliminated in the engine compartment is tremendous and air flow is improved greatly without the radiator.
What I would like to see from Yamaha is a front bulk head cooler combined with a front tunnel cooler, atleast that option.
Cat offer 2 cooler style on their 4stroke, you can get a bulk head cooler model or a bulk head tunnel cooler model depending on your use.

All this talk about weight.
When I rode the viper last spring, sure didn't feel nose heavy.
The other day I tried to lift my buddies 2 stroke sled at the front,
whooo didn't even lift it off the ground.
When your stuck, your stuck anythings heavy. All that snow packed in there.
As long as the back end is light, you will get unstuck.
So thinking the Viper is nose heavy or just plain heavy, all I can say is ride it before you judge it. The sled is very well balanced.
The handling is awesome so if you can tell me that the sled feels to heavy after you ride it, then maybe you
should be doing R&D for the big sled companies, as you are an expert and know it all.

Not to put the Viper down in any way it is a great sled, but I have spent time on a 40,000$+ Viper this season and it feels really heavy compared to my T3.
Just the honest truth. When its stuck you NEED help.

That said I can't wait to try the 2016. The Narrow front end will help out a lot I think.

But that won't help you any when you're wedged into a tree like this,, by your self. Id like less weight in these cases than my T3,, not more....

And Id LOVE to do R&D for Yamaha or any of the manufactures :)

To put this into perspective...
A four stroke is heavier then its two stroke counterpart, period. The "feel" of said weight (when riding) can be tuned out of it with suspension adjustments if it is a balanced package. Static weight is a different story.
There was a time when I could dead lift my stuck sled out of a trench (many years and fewer broken bones ago), but it doesn't matter if it's a 4 stroke or 2 stroke - it isn't happening these days.
Something to be said about a 4 stroke's torque: If you can learn to ride a bit farther ahead of your sled, you won't be stuck as often, especially on boost. The power delivery is much more linear, and I've found that with my current ride (with proper suspension adjustments) - I can go more places without getting planted due to the forgiveness of the torque curve. On the same note, I don't really want to ride tight trees every day with it, either...but 10 years younger? Sign me up.
The manufacturers have come a long way in providing amazing sleds, in both 2 and 4 stroke packages. Can't wait to see where we are at in another 10 years...

On the weight subject, we weighed a 2014 xm. Full of fuel ready to ride. Sled is running electric start, stock battery, 174" 3" track, belt drive, racers edge t motion skid, raptor shocks. And Boondocker turbo kit, It came in at 617 pounds. I feel this is a good sled to compare with, as it has all the bells and whistles that most have been ding to the yammis. My turbo nytro came in at 648 pounds ready to ride with 162" 15 wide 2 1/2" track. That being said I would love to take a viper for a ride. I feel yamaha should offer both steering post designs, as I'm not find of the flat steering, but liked the 14 I showroom rode with the over the engine type steering post.
