We rode Allen again today. About a foot of fresh, I'm guessing less then 15 sleds anywhere past avalanche alley. We wrecked all we could before dark good riding left. Also seen a groomer fired up in the parking lot.

They can barely predict tomorrow let alone two weeks, I only look three days in advance, any more than that and its a huge guess

Yeah I know! But I'd rather see snow on it anyways haha! Hopefully they get some more precipitation up there!!

The default iPhone weather app is terrible. At one point there was snowflakes for every single day for two weeks in Valemount. Slowly but surely they all changed to cloudy. It's tough to even try booking a sled trip a week in advance now with so many sleds going up and we all want fresh snow lol but a bad day on the hill is still better than a good day at work

Grooming has begun in two of our three main areas with hopes to have all three areas online by Wednesday, although conditions are still thin down low and we are playing things day by day at this time.

First tracks were set yesterday in Clemina and Chappell and the machines and drags were to hit them again today to set the trails in before the cold snap. This is early season and we are working with a very thin snowpack down low. We are trying to groom for you (the users) so please be understanding and patient while we get things rolling in these less than stellar conditions.

Alpine snow depths are averaging 165cms and riding is still quite good in all three of the major areas. Riders are urged to use caution as many hazards such as rocks, stumps and open water still exist. Hopefully this week’s cold weather will help out with the freeze up.

NOTE: Its going to be a cold week and there is NO FIRE WOOD up at the Allan Creek Cabin at this time. It cannot be gathered in the summer so we need the groomers to be running to get this done. We will try to get some this week if weather permits.

We rode Alan on Saturday December 3, the trail up was rough but that was expected since it was not being groomed yet and the low snow conditions. The parking lot was quite busy. The switch backs were starting to get icy in areas and limited snow. Up around the cabin area the snow was down and there was a fair amount of hazards. This was a good base however, just needed was some good snow. We managed to find some ok areas to play in and never hit any rocks or trees.

We rode Climina on Sunday Dec 4, Some new snow overnight as well as the groomer had headed up the trail to start getting it ready. The first km of trail had some water and mud in in few areas from there it was fairly good until we met up with the groomer and passed him. The way down was good, there was some low spots but nothing that another snow fall would look after. The groomer went all the way up the trail past the cabin and up into the alpine with the start of the trail.
There was between 8 - 12" of new snowfall, we played in goat ridge most of the day as it was socked in. We found decent snow and managed play for entire day, at the end of the day some blue sky came through for a bit. We never hit any rocks or stumps and had a fairly decent day for the first ride of the season. The snow was a bit down but on its way, some creeks were still open in areas and rocks and stumps were visible.

I'm assuming there is going to be quite a few sleds out there this weekend, just wondering how tracked out the major areas are? I'm sure I would be able to find snow in Alan but im not extremely familiar with Climina and Chappel. Just trying to figure out if it's worth driving the 9 hours to ride fresh snow for half a day in -25
