I thought the gates were opened at a certain date not by how much snow there is ?

There is an Gov. enforced elevation closure above the gates to wheeled vehicles to protect the alpine on both Boulder and Frisby. When there is enough snow to unload at the gates and ride from that point they will be unlocked.
Thanks to the guys who went up last wknd. to check on things and run the generator. Camera ran 7 days but is down again and I do not know when someone will be able to get up and run it again for us.
Looks like more precip and cooler temps next wk. Lets hope it falls as snow and lots of it at the gates.

You can view previous images on the Yamacam page, you can see there is less snow now than a few days ago.

Lots of other places to ride Fred that aren`t managed recreation sites. Point of pics was to show just how much you can count on people to respect the laws these days. Guess there will always be that guy in any motorized recreation whose actions paint us all with the same brush. Gets old.

Just got back home from riding revy sat oct 29th. Parking has receded to about the 10km mark...was fairly busy maybe 15 trucks. Area is now fairly pounded out and needs fresh. Our group had no damage but still hitting lots of little trees and the odd rocks. If you're looking to scratch the itch there's your option. If you want good riding conditions, suggest waiting till the forecast looks better.

We had about 4 solid feet. First tracks in lots of spots. Got quite of playing in when crust came off around noon. Best early season riding we've done yet. None of us hit any land mines, and alittle bit of mud.

So what is the deal with frisby and boulder? Is the gates closed? When do they open? Who can I contact to find out when they open?

Sled Revelstoke Web site would be number one, and think the gate depends on conditions at start and end of year

Drive BC web cams are showing lots of snow at rogers

Just baiting I see T!
Usually once Albert Canyon starts getting hit, that is a positive sign.

You guys set up yet?
I am geared and ready but work for two more weeks........

Still need a few more degrees lower consistant cooler temps and game will be on.....

First day on Novemer tommorrow and things are way ahead of years past. We have seen this before and had crap. Hopefully the systems start now.

Just like the song "When the gales of November come early" of course with the North winds......

Hope this is a powder keg season?
