It's snowing!!!!! It's snowing!!!!
After a week of very strange weather ranging from high elevation rain to below freezing temperatures and sun, winter may have started to set in around here again. We are currently getting hit by a nice snow storm that may set us up for a good weekend if it drops enough precipitation.
This current storm along with associated snow and winds will most certainly add event more complexity to an already complex snowpack. Please visit www.avalanche.ca get advice from the professionals before you head out into the hills this weekend.

first time at summit river lodge... thank you Lisa and Terry, you have made the experience away from home more like being at home and being able to have an epic weekend of sledding. we will deffinately be back!

Pretty decent day at Allen. Managed to find some untracked snow and had a blue bird day to go with it.
Picked up about 8 or 10 beer cans just past the Alley. When we rode up to the lake there was a group sitting there and it turns out the cans were theirs... How hard is it to pack your chit out? Seriously...
What did this group of idiots look like. Any distinct sled wraps or sleds. That makes my blood boil. I would have done more than pick there **** up for them. There needs to be consequences for people's actions. Like not being allowed to use the area if you can't respect it. Just saying.

We were at allan Sunday. There was lots of unridden areas, sure the main paths were pounded like a parking lot, but we played in some treed areas probably within a km of the cabin and found lots of untouched.
We helped some guys out with their dead m1000 Poor dude who had that sled.. It looked like an expensive weekend for him..LOL
The mountains need a 4 foot dump or 2.

Hope it opens up with a dump from h$&& , 8 of us leaving Thursday, 4 newbies who think they can do anything and go anywhere cause they ride pros cant wait for a stuckfest

No snow at Allen Creek on Saturday LOL...maybe it's time for you guys to step off the hard packed trail and play in the untracked snow that Allen Creek has to offer. Allen Creek is a vast area and will always have untracked snow you just need to get off the super highway that goes to the back there is always lots on the sides.

It looks like we are in for another week of mixed and mild weather here in Valemount. This weekend had a quite variable snow conditions across the area. Aspect and elevation really played a big part in the snow quality. Our 7 day forecast is calling for light snow throughout the week, so here's hoping for a reload.
