Redsands - Groomed Saturday Jan.24th


We Groom every trail after every 100 Payed riders.

Rained to alpine yesterday but snow was falling up top tonight.

So what are your overall snow conditions ? How much traffic in Sledder traffic. Group of five down for two more days lookin to ride in vale, heading to mcb today , maybe , Ie is it all tracked up

Sorry on the delayed updates, been busy organizing and running for the BRPPS Rider appreciation Poker Rally & Dance this Saturday Feb.14th.

BRPPS Family Poker Rally and BBQ on Groundhog Mountain, Registration from 8am - noon on Saturday.

A lot of rain this week in the valley but the boys are finding some nice dry powder in certain areas, up to 60cm's of powder yesterday.

This rain deal is wearing thin. We get great snow and then it turns in to a 7-11 slushy. Some where the pain has to end I am thinking. I talked to some heli skiiers a couple of weeks ago. They told me they paid over $14,000 for a week of skiing on mostly ICE. For some reason that cheered me as I listened to thier story of pain and agony.

I can't post pictures for some reason. Sledded in groundhog east today. Rained all the way up the trail.
Once we got to the trees it stopped raining but was foggy and socked in all day.
The snow had about 6" fresh but it was very heavy due to the rain and warm temps.

Great day in Blue River today. Blue sky's and great conditions on West Ground Hog.
Many many thanks to the local club for organizing the poker rally, fire and snacks on the hill.

No fresh snow. Rained here this week and now it's been sunny.
We found some untracked to play in on west groundhog but it's pretty tracked out now where we were.
I'm sure if you go back far enough you can find some.

Looking to make our first trip to Blue River this weekend. Does anyone know what the snow base is like? Do they still have rocks and stumps sticking out? Would like to get out and explore with out breaking anything.

There is always a chance of something under a pillow but its February.. you're probably more then safe at this time of the year. Hire a guide to get a real lay of the land. Lots of caribou areas in the groundhog/foam creek area so be aware and keep us sledders out of trouble. Have fun blue river is a great area

Hey, I as there this past weekend and it rained and had warm temperatures. Saturday wasn't too bad but Sunday was concrete everywhere. We had to run with scratcher all day and just kind of toured around. There wasn't any snow for riding. Unless it snows big time or gets really warm when you are there to soften the snow I would postpone the trip till better conditions. As for stumps there wasn't really anything to worry about but the creeks were open and running.

Rode Groundhog West today, real good trail ride in and out. Cool air temp but clear sunny skies all day. Some fresh at altitude. Great day on the hill.
