WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW WHEN SNOWMOBILING IN BLUE RIVER:

  • Please use DESIGNATED PARKING AREAS, Finn Creek - 22 km's south of Blue River or Redsands(Parberry) - 2 km's north of Blue River at the River Safari. 9 public riding areas can be accessed from these 2 staging areas.

  • Trails are groomed every 100 paid riders/trail, if you skip or jump trail booths we can not accurately keep track of rider numbers delaying in the trail systems being groomed.

  • SALMON LAKE, GROUNDHOG EAST & WEST, FOAM, HOLY GRAIL, BIG BLUE, PARADISE, HORSESHOE & REDSANDS(PARBERRY) ARE ALL AREAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

  • Access to all riding areas are within Sensitive Mountain Caribou habitat, so YOU MUST STAY ON DESIGNATED TRAILS until riding areas are reached.

  • Once in a the riding area watch for wildlife closure signs, these yellow signs mark the area boundaries, PLEASE RESPECT THEM!

  • Make every effort to research an area before riding there, INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND AT THE TRAIL HEAD BOOTHS.

  • If wildlife is encountered, DO NOT APPROACH, stay on your snowmobile and allow the animal the chance to move away.

  • Operating snowmobiles on public roadways or in Ditches is ILLEGAL, Groomed trails are provided for your Safety.

  • Understand and Respect that there are other Backcountry users sharing the rights to some areas (FOAM), Please Respect their space and OBEY boundary signs, FAILURE TO RESPECT THE BOUNDARIES WILL RESULT IN THE LOSS OF PUBLIC USE to the area.

  • PACK OUT WHAT YOU PACK IN!

  • BLUE RIVER'S SNOWMOBILE AREAS ARE BEING MONITORED FOR COMPLIANCE. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS LEGISLATION IS SUBJECT TO PROSECUTION UNDER THE WILDLIFE ACT, AND CAN RESULT IN FINES, EQUIPMENT SEIZURES AND ULTIMATELY THE CLOSURE OF AREAS FOR EVERYONE.

BRPPS
- BLUE RIVER'S SNOWMOBILE CLUB IS A NON-PROFIT SOCIETY THAT IS RUN BY VOLUNTEERS, THE CLUB CONTINUES BATTLING TO KEEP THESE AREAS OPEN FOR PUBLIC USE. EVERY YEAR A SMALL PERCENTAGE OF RIDERS FEEL THEY CAN RIDE WHERE EVER THEY FEEL BREACHING BOUNDARIES AND RIDE INTO CLOSED WILDLIFE AREAS. THIS CREATES SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF VOLUNTEER TIME TO MEND BRIDGES WITH GOVERNMENT AND OTHER BACKCOUNTRY USERS. WITHOUT YOUR COMPLETE COMPLIANCE AND COOPERATION THESE AREAS WILL BE CLOSED.

THANKS ALL RIDERS WHO RESPECT THE RULES AND CONTRIBUTE BY FOLLOWING THESE SIMPLE RULES.

Yes Fingers and White River are registered as a Members Only areas with the Government of BC. The Fingers and White River are in highly sensitive mountain caribou habitat, having these areas deemed for members only was to keep the high number of riders out of these sensitive areas in order to keep them open.
These areas are closed to the public, in order to access you must have a copy of your current BRPPS membership and your trail pass in your possession. We have recorded over 300 riders into the Fingers this season with only 102 that have paid. So you can thank the fellow sledders that feel they don't need to pay and jumping the booths for the rough trails. Please access all areas on designated trail systems, it is illegal to ride the ditch and the train track right-away.
All Blue River riding areas are being monitored for compliance. Failure to comply with this legislation is subject to prosecution under the wildlife act, and can result in fines, equipment seizures and ultimately the closure of areas for everyone.

Hey Digger where can I pick up a membership? I have a Varda one but I guess I need a Blue River one?

Addicted to boost.

Memberships can be purchased at the Glacier Inn Hotel, Blue River Sledz, or any of the 3 trail information/trail ticket booths, Redsands(Parberry), North Blue or the Finn
Creek booths.

Salmon cut blocks is a challenge for the experienced. Icy single track through the trees. If you do go keep your momentum up to cut down on the ice buildup

I would not take a newbie into salmon especially how it was after last weekend I would imagine it will be a difficult time even for the experienced guys with that trail. As for groundhog yes there is stuff to climb for the "experienced" rider but the "experienced backcountry" rider might stay off slopes right now especially in an unknown new area we did trigger avys last weekend in both the salmon and groundhog areas although small and not likely to cause a fatality still very scary situation also had some areas split open didn't let go but could have been bad so please just be aware wherever you decide to go

Any experienced riders want to ride blue next week? I was think of going for two or three days. Wanted to ride salmon one of the days. I've been in there before. Not sure where the other days depends on the weather.

We were in Salmon on Saturday, we left the truck at 9:30, got to the alpine roughly around noon. Trail to the cut block is great, than its icy shoot after icy shoot, and trenched out to the ground. they definitely need more snow to cover the bobsled track!
