You have one hell of a good truck then...I travel with 3 2012's (Fords)hauling 29ft enclosed from edmonton Single wheel 350's without lifts and everyone fills in Cochrane as they cannot make Golden. Thats driving 120-125km/hr...i have 2 buddy's that made the trip empty last yr and crawled into Revy with the fuel light on. Not calling you a liar but thats just better then 15litres/100km hauling a 28ft enclosed trailer through the mountians in the winter...Are you sure your not driving a Volkwagon?

The dually holds more fuel than a short box one ton. 90 liters vs 135

i also think thats a little low, pulling a trailer will at best get you 22l/100kms, so that being said 22*7= 154L (7 is for 700 kms) to get to revelstoke from edmonton

If a person is filling in Cochrane and can't make Golden that is only a 250km trip that is very poor fuel economy. Its 25l/100 if you only burnt the 100l and the fords hold over 130 L plus, so more like 32.5 l /100 +/-. These seem to me to be the right numbers pulling that much weight and in the mountains.

That is the way they design the vehicle believe it or not... It's all bolts and disconnection of the wiring harnesses. The job gets easier once the cab is removed.

The cabs do not have to come off to do engine repairs on the new 2011 Fords.

That's awesome....keep plugging away boys...those coal rolling fuggers getting 10 mpg are what keeps the paychecks coming in.:)

If you know something I don't say it... I can't read between the lines and i don't know what your talking about. I don't think any of the vehicle are as reliable as they could be. I'd still rather drive and tow with "coal" then a gas.

I almost bought a toyota tundra except I found out that they have an api valve issue thats costing 4k to fix and burn a lot of gas (don't feel like pulling over 4 times on my road trips). Priced out a Chevy z71 crew cab 6.0 litre gas 44k. Now with Dodge giving the diesel away for free or ford employee pricing I am getting very close numbers to 50k... I don't think I'd buy a gas 3/4 ton for 6k less then a diesel just my re sale alone would make up for that.

I posted on here looking for advise if the only thing you can say is that Im paying for pay check and that's your way of helping... THANKS for NOTHING!

If you have a point from your experience I'd love to hear it! If not make a post how much you hate diesels.

For anyone else that cares... I am test driving a cummins tomorrow!

I can't believe people think the diesel option is free with dodge. I guess that's why they advertise like that when people believe it even though it's BS.

Guys I am a cummins fan don't get me wrong but the new Ford's are getting impressive milage.

I have debated the whole gas vs diesel thing to death in my head (im slow at making large financial decisions)

I need a family vehicle so large cab is needed or i'd keep my 02 forever.

I can't stand it when kids in car seats can kick the back of the seat.

Stock dodges are now getting about 22 litres to 100 km (driving say 110-115kmph) (that sucks still hearing some guys complaining after deletes)

I heard the new Ford is WAY better on diesel. My truck will mostly be a long haul family vehicle ( i travel a lot) so comfort and reliability are my main issues. I tow a trailer 7-9 thousand pounds only twice per year. I don't due a lot of gravel road driving but need ground clearence for a short 8k trip into my fav fishing whole and cabin so dirty max is out!

I love the cummins 6 speed manual tranny does Ford have one?

Not looking to start a debate here. Honestly just wanna hear from guys who have them. This is not a Gas for diesel quesiton either... nothing makes me sicker on road trip then passing everyone only to have to stop and get gas to start all over again! BC is worse for that then AB cause of the narrow roads!

I also have a large 330 lbs handicapped dad and I love to take him fishing/hunting with me so cab room and comfort are a must. I have never even been in the cab of a large ford!

LAST but not least through a friend I have been told I can get any chrysler product for 25$ above dealer invoice???? How would I know? Anyone have any input on that

Stock dodges getting 22l per 100k??? I get that towing my travel trailer. With my stock dodge 6.7. The 6 speed manual is ok if you want low HP and torque.

Nope I have the 6speed auto, I would like to have the standard but it has less Hp and tq compared to the auto, my truck is the 2007.5. It's forsale too, I have a 2012 dodge 3500 ordered.

J-Roc is that the ford dealer in Peace River? What did they do for a reflash?

Sure is! Been very happy with them. Bought three trucks from Travis, and am very happy. It was a recall on some 2011s. Some sensor in the exhaust..... I can look it up if you'd like?

I have a 2011 Dodge 2500 cummins, with an 8" BDS long arm lift, 37"x13.50"x20" tires, EGR/DPF delet, H&S mini max, H&S intake manifold, 5" turbo back exhaust and a S&B cold air intake. On the highway I am getting 11 L/100km. Thats driving around 110 kmh. Ford is a nice truck, but I favor the cummins engine.

lol... well its still a cheaper vehicle then the Ford on all the lots I have gone too? Have you checked out the prices on a power wagon? At those prices i'd be stupid not to buy the diesel! Please tell me if I am wrong!

To steal my own post... DOES the dodge still have a crappy front end? Another thing I fixed every two years at the cost of about 1200 bucks!
