well i'd like to see meeting dates, times , locations and some contacts. upcoming events, maybe some pics of past events, photo's etc. what the asa is planning and going to do, trail projects etc. that should be a start. the more info should generate some interest. we have how many members on this site. just 1% would be a big boost to the asa and clubs.

Imdooin the new PR man for the ASA. The ASA are looking for a few new directors. Would you like me to forward your name.?Need your contact info. Look at all the time you have and you know how to post here. You can start with the club in the Red Deer area they are a small group and they could use your experience and drive you have to make it easy for them to get the word out on the Red Deer area. Contact a guy named Roger Pillman he is with that club. Good Luck and thanks for your support.

The items you have listed are what I would expect to see on a sled clubs website. If they are large enough and have enough volunteer help to have developed one. I do not see this as a responsibility of the ASA to post on this site.

then who is? then don't ask for us to support the friggin asa. you just don't seem to get it. make it easy for people on here to get involved. are the clubs not part of the asa,

looks like you guys just can't get with the program. just the reason i got tired of the volunteer bs.

X2 I see very limited club info on this site even though there are sections dedicated for this info. Caroline club for example in our region does not post anything for us locals to look at...No one wants to do the work, but they want our money for support!!! Go figure eh Same reason I got out of the club scene. Clubs need to think outside of the box for support, instead of bleeding the dedicated members constantly. Seen a lot of clubs fail because of this bleeding method. People just get sick and tired of being the only ones paying... Exposure is the key, I'd say. What do I know I'm just a dumb sled head who spends time on this great site. At least I and others on this site can see past the ends of our nose's...

I'm in talks with the Alberta Beach club to possibly invite maxwell for a ride followed by an autograph session.... we might even make it an annual "Maxwell Ride"

I have to agree with old mountain man. This site is not an ASA site so I don't see why they have any obligation to post on behalf of the clubs. Anyone can post news and events. If you do find out some info why not post it for the benefit of everyone? Even if you are not a member of your local club for whatever reason you can still post what is going on in your area.

I think the ASA is for the benefit of everyone but in a different context than what you are thinking. I believe their main purpose is to represent the individual clubs in Alberta and interact on our behalf with the government. I know from personal experience that interacting with our elected members in the government is like doing your own dental work-- very painful and poor results.

I would also like timely informative information on what is going on with individual clubs. Maybe if everyone mentions it to their local club we can get some input from them. I assume every club in Alberta has at least one member on Snow and Mud. Thanks to you and everyone else who does provide information when you get it. It's a start and maybe it will catch on.

I have mentioned that Snow and Mud has a section for each Alberta club at the general meetings of the ASA. Some clubs use it some have never. Fort Saskatchewan which I belong to use it for all our info. Whitecourt is a good user also. It has helped our club huge.
Imdooin I can see where your coming from kinda. Not all clubs have the drive to put their stuff on here. Some just want to keep it all to themselves so they dont get overrun with sledders.
The ASA has only 2 people working for them somewhat fulltime. They are overworked most of the time. Posting on here is a fulltime position with what they are doing or what is happeneing around the province. They have a website and at the last meeting in April there was a presentation on their newer website. Lots of good ideas but again takes time to post it there. I would sooner see the staff working on more important issues to get better snowmobiling in Alberta than to have updates on Snow and Mud.
The clubs need to be encourged to post their events or projects on their sections of this site. I know they are all volunteers and are also overworked and sometimes dont have the skills to post here. I have asked many and they seem that its to much to put their stuff here. Many clubs have their websites as well so double posting is to much for them to do. Tri-county,Alberta Beach,Trailseekers, whitecourt, are just a couple that I can think of.
Imdoin sometimes YOU have to go find your own info. Its out there to find BUT it sure would be better if they posted here also.

Hope this helps for now.

yes any volunteer organization usually has only a few working members and they are run off there feet. you can easily see which clubs have an active membership, on s&m. i just think that with the size of this site, they are missing an opportunity to attract new members and interest. not many people will spend the time to seek out info, and everytime i post an event in red deer area there seems to be a fair amount of interest. anyway, i just wanted to shake the tree and get some people thinking.
