2008 summit XP restoration and turbo build up.

The sled is an old summit X that I got in 2009 that Richard Micku
had built an 880motts racegas with. Kick ass sled in 2009 let me tell yea..lol

Fast forward to 2013,, its beat to sh#t.

But It has a fresh stock bore motor,a solid chasis thats been braced and
I have lots of race parts for it ext.

Phase 1- get the turbo working. No point doing the rest of the sled till thats
figured out.

Phase 2- S-36 front end. New skid/shocks, 173 3inch track (currently 163)
C3 belt drive.(chaincase has almost had it,, might as well belt drive)

Phase 3- New plastic, XM seat,, maybe a wrap.

Dont have a pic of the sled handy, but here is the turbo kit I picked
up today.

what size aerochargre did you get with the kit?

FYI s36 shocks are shorter than the stock 08/09 shocks. If you crank the springs up they will work for the older chassis(to maintain ride height), have done it myself.

Not 100% sure on size as I dont have a ton of experience with Aerocharger. I think its the smaller 53series tho? It has about a 6inch diameter. Should be enough for 12lbs boost?

The stock XP shocks are 17inches center to center and the s36's are 16.75 if I remeber correctly. But this is because the A-arms are shorter too, right?

I might just get new shocks I dont mind the ski stance at 38inches.

But for 600$(with the s36) you get shocks and the narrow A-arms. Hard to beat that

Yep, that's a 53 series. I'd definitely keep your boost set between 5-7 psi, we run larger 66 series Aerochargers on 800+ sleds.

That should still easily be good for 200 + hp...

the shocks are 3/8" shorter, just checked with a set of elka I had kickin around. Yes the a arm pickup points themselves are in different locations. I personally still like the wide stance over narrow, really helps out when ****s going south.

Think im gonna do oil injection delete to lose a little weight and clean it up abit under the hood.

I did some ruff fitting, I like it. I really like how the Aero Charger is self contained plus the Air Box and Oil tank are going Bye Bye,,,Doesnt look like much now, but Its going to be a real clean install when its done.

Tommorow finish the tear down,pull the motor. Do what I gotta do and then put it
all back togther!

I already had a Race Gas motts 880, It was pretty rank.
I almost bought a 950bikeman bb but I couldnt get any info on it, so I never got it.
Coulda been a good power plant? guess Ill never know.

I got this turbo kit for a blown up dirt bike, so that was a pretty good score I think.
The guy said it had too much HP for him,,, Im like yeah right you probably couldnt get it to work...lol

Im pretty confident Ill be able to get it to work good tho. Carbed turbo's arent for guys who dont like tunning. Plus I have other sleds to ride, so if I get pissed off I can always ride another sled.

How much cheddar tho? The 950 I was looking at was 2200$ for a complete motor,, The guy said he paid 6g and it pulled hard. It was a bikeman and I couldnt get any info on it so I passed.


Good to know you offer that tho Deano,, Never know I might need one someday,, that would be a nice power plant for a XM,, Or maybe even a Carbon chassis skidoo based sled!

Got bored so I pulled the motor tonight, my puller was at a friends house so I tried out the old
Water trick,, Ah sh#t it worked...lol

What a mess under the engine; oil,, dirt,, pine cones,, pine needles and various tree parts...lol
The sled spent a fair amount of time upside down,, the oil tank and chaincase
both leaked...Oil every where. With the oil delete and belt drive I wont be having
this problem any more.
