Just picked up a 2008 M8 162, can anyone shed some light on performance and maintainence tips etc. I know the stinger is heavy stock, so a new stinger might be in order. What brand, jaws, mbrp etc...????

If you can spend the extra few bucks get the Full SLP pipe set (no fuel control needed). That way you'll see some gains for your money. If not I would go with an HPS or the "Thing" can. Both made and tested at elevation. Second thing I would do is put a power claw track on.

The MBRP can is very good upgrade. I just finished a Boondocker turbo on one at the shop here and it works very well. A little spendy but there is lots of other upgrades for a lot less. Nitrous, reeds, Boondocker box, pipes, a track is a good upgrade. The list go on. If I can help you out at all, let me know. Dan

Hey thanks for the replies. I just purchased an 08 M1000 with the telescopic bars upgrade today for myself and the wifes 08 M8 yesterday. Might do the Stingers, does anyone know the cost on the MBRP for M8 and M1000? Which is a better track than stock and why???? Thanks Guys, hey Capt! are you in Sylvan?

P.S. If anyone is looking for some nice used great shape Apex's our two from last year are sitting at Red Deer Power SPorts. Mine would be a good score it has $2K in mods seat and exhaust, plus all the original stock seat and exhaust...... We sure like the look and feel of these Cats. The Apexs were just too much to handle for us older folks hehe.... Cheers, LET IT SNOW!

Thanks! Only thing I can tell between the 08-09-10 sleds is the CC, Telescopic bars, the new Dash Gauge, Seat, and PRICE! I bought an 08 M1000 and the dealer is putting the new bar on for me, so I figure a seat prolly and then I have an 09 for an 08 price!

I can sell you MBRP cans for under $300, and I have a Mountain Mod seat in stock for the M chassis, so if wanted to come out and have a look you can. I am just NW of Sylvan, Dan

The rear tunnel, the powerclaw track and electronic reverse are the differences that matter between between 09 and 08.

Might be interested if budget allows, how much for the seat compared to the new cat seat?

$400.00 for the new cat seat... Also 2010's have the new engine.

Ahh yes the new engine! More +'s from Cat this year. We are real happy to be rid of the Apex's. Yamaha seems more focused on the under powered Nytro 3 cyclinder these days.
