Got the truck last night and tinkering today. Found this seal on both front hubs is torn, any idea what it's for and if it needs to be replaced ASAP?

dad runs a 08 350 with about 120000km on it. No issues out of it. had one coolant fitting brake and replaced the brake pads. Oh and a couple sets of tires. has a afe intake, edge chip and dpf delete. gets on average 25 mpg. change the fuel filters every second oil change and put in fuel.

those are just dust seals.... Almost every ford that comes into the shop, they have popped out........ Leave 'em as is, until you have to replace an axle seal or axle u-joint or ball joints or somethin' like that.

The truck has a remote start installed, but no remote. Anyone know how good a factory remote start work? And where to get a remote?

You read the thread, and you seen what they offer... I'm not a Ford guy, but GM parts are way cheaper, why not go with a DirtyMax? My mom's and sisters Explorers both had their fair share of problems. Our GM's been good to us.

'05 Sierra 2500 Duramax 35" tires, and a 4" lift, otherwise all stock. regular maintenance, and pulls a 24 ft enclosed. no problems to report.
'08 Silverado 1500 (mine) recall for anti-freeze heater (gonna miss that option in the winter) rubber boot on the steering column rubbing on the fire wall (warranty) passenger side door lock got gummy on me and doesn't work some times (warranty) to this day I still think someone spilled something in it...

'05 Explorer 3 sets of shocks, 4 sets of brakes, shocks starting to go again, odd clunks coming from the bottom end, one time loud screeching from the rear end (typical ford stuff)
'10 Explorer 2 alignments, right from the factory, had to replace truck due to rusting and somehow had 1000 km on it when it was "brand new" (warranty). Dealer got an earful out of that one.

Ok, I think I am screwed now. On the advice of my work mechanic, who was a ford master mechanic for over 20 years, I attempted to adjust the steering box.

I slid under the truck, backed the 11/16 jamb nut off, than backed the 5/8 nut off 1/2 a turn. I noticed no difference when driving but now it leaks power steering fluid like its going out of style. What did I mess up, and do I just take it to Ford and hope I get away with only a new power steering box?

HELP

The steering wheel didnt return to centre when turning corners. If you turned the wheel a full rotation than let go you would continue to go in circles til the manually correct the steering.

I got a 09 F350 with 78,000KM so far and been running 50,000KM now tuned with no DPF or CAT just 5" straight pipe and Spartan tuner. Truck is awesome knock on wood have not been to the shop since i installed the aftermarket exhaust and tuner. Truck show i am burning 8L/100KM at 110KPH. Takes me 2 tanks to get to revy and use to take me 4 tanks so that says it all for me!!!!!!!! I LOVE my F350.
