Hey guys looking at a 2001 dodge 2500 laramine diesel.

Wondering what you guys think about it, and what you think of your truck like that if you have one, and what you would pay for this truck or what you would pay for it or any gen 2 24 valve cummins for that matter. IF you can not get to the link he want 16000 and it has 163 000 km on it. and it is a 4x4

They are great trucks. You have to be worried about the lifts pumps, that's about it. The guy is on crack for that price though. It is a 9 year old truck, can't be worth more then like $12,000.

well I think that 16000$ is way to much even with the low km. I would say between 10000 and 12000 mabey

i wouldnt pay that much.i just bought a 2005 dodge 3500 for 16,000

We paid $8500 for our 1 ton dually 24 valve diesel EXT. It had more kms and the guy was desperate for a sale. It took hubby a few months to find the right truck. If you are not in a hurry, shop around on the net, you will find the right one for the right price.

I had a 02 3500 dually, great truck. Biggest problem we had was interarior parts breaking. She was rough ride without 1000lbs in the back. She sure pulled great, mine was a 5 speed and stock. had it up to 200000km.

thanks alot guys i think im going to wait until i find alittle cheaper one. I am ina hurry but i have a little while yet i just need a good truck by november that will pull a 24 ft stock trailer to edmonton and back loaded so. IF you guys here about any nice trucks for a good price in the calgary ish region want to let me know thanks. And one more question how long do you guys expect a cummins to last.

My 01 3500 just rolled over 375,000km and shes still going strong. If the rest of the truck is in good shape and you can get it for $10,000 its a good deal.

Great looking truck,if it's something you want and everything seems and looks ok,then get it.My bro's buddy picked one up dunno year but had that motor and it was at 400,000km and still driving it.It's ok kijiji throw his a low offer and work from there,if you willing to pay $12,000 and you can save a few bucks then your getting even a better deal,Good Luck

have you called the guy to see if he stilll even has it because i was looking on kijiji and anything in that year diesl was selling way above $12k,even saw a 99 i think with 500,000km...For that price it might be gone

One thing to check when you go and look at one is look for codes. To check for codes on the 2000,2001 & 2002 Dodge's you can cycle the key 3 times from off to on and if the truck has any codes it will show you. You wouldn't want a bad VP44 right from the start, that's about $1000. just for the pump. There is a lot of information on cumminsforum.com about these trucks. I've got an 01 cummins with 350k, edje juice with attitude, fass 95/150 fuel pump, K&N cold air intake, and 4" straight pipe. The weak link on these trucks is the lift pump, the VP44 when it doesn't get enough fuel pressure and the auto trans.

thanks alot guys. he did sell the truck but oh well i wait for another one. i just can not justify spending 16000 on a 2001 truck. let you know if i find any more
