A older gentleman drop off a old Yamaha at my place for me clean up and do some small repairs its a 77gp 440 its a museum piece 4000 miles and still looks new if i could figer out how to put pictures on dang thing i put them on

I would like as close too $1000.00 as i can get but it is the end of the year. So really money talks and could end up getting really cheap! You never know. Already on to the next project.

A few years ago my friend's son had one. He broke the track so I gave him an old 121 track and he used the skid out of a newer machine to make it work. He fabbed a tunnel extension from some aluminum. To gain some power he found a single pipe that had a race stinger...so it was really loud but it sure ripped after he tuned it in. It was a fun light sled even before his mods but afterward it was a lot more fun to ride and his cost was next to nothing. There is a lot to be said about building a simple light machine that you don't have a lot of money tied up in!

Gearing up for the piles of snow!! We have a new addition - yup, its PINK 
But nothing a good paint job won't fix! We start tonite. We convinced my nephew to buy it, and now he has the Barbie Edition ET300 - that said, its in fantastic condition and could'nt beat the price.
The sled to the right of Barbie is SAFASTRO'S ET340 - it gets a brand new hood from our old donor sled, along with new shocks and a new windshield + new graphics - - he has a lead on a comet clutch so that'll be a nice add on if he gets it.
My 10 year old's little ET250 with the primed gray hood will get a nice flat black look + skull on the hood + a new windshield + new shocks --> we're going for the RAT ROD look. This summer we also pulled the POS Keihin carb off the ET250 and tried the one from the ET300 - but no joy. I went and bought a round slide carb - Mikuni - and it goes no problem!! We will premix, but it lights up in the garage, hope it goes in the cold.
The sled to the left of the ET250 (which is my ET340) gets new idle wheels, new fuel lines (my garage stinks already from the work in progress), new windshield and new shocks.
Other than that, we're ready to roll!! Haha. We will be looking out for any vintage Sled Rally's this year and hopefully make it to those.
We just added another ET300 to the pack for Safastro's Kids - not in picture - no more room in my garage, my wife is gunna kill me.

Does Safastro still have a V8 Stro? We have used our V8 vans as our toy hauler for many years...the V8 4x4 lifted one I built was the most fun though!

Hey Rock!! How ya doing buddy. I got rid of the van a few years back. Still have the V8 sittin in the garage though......too much money sunk into her.
Now I'm into vintage sleds and LX's (an 05 Magnum RT)

Maybe you will find another machine for your SBC...Lots of things you could put it into!
You bet! Still have some vans for fun! Out of all the machines I have built over the years I have had the most fun building the V8 Astros and Safari vans. No one expects them to rip let alone destroy other machines...super sleepers! That and the fact that you can use them for so many things once you add some torque and hp to them. We have a couple of vintage sleds also. One of them is an old 74 Scorpion...still runs but is in need of a track soon. Nothing I have will fit it though. I don't ride the old ones but it is nice to have a spare machine or two for kids to run around on. The importand thing is just to get out and enjoy the sport no matter what you ride.

Tracks are not that hard to remove. You can do it a few ways. I usually hold the rear of the sled up with a picker and then unbolt the skid frame. I do not recall exactly how to remove the track drive shaft on the little yamy but usually you have to unbolt one bearing cage on one side and then get at the other side through the chain case. If you are lucky it should slide out and then your track is off.
