What do you guys know about the clutches on these things (1980 deLuxe), the boys is kinda rattleing ...it seems to work good, just don't sound good. I have never had one apart, taking it apart doesn't intimidate me, just looking for a heads up if any can be offered.

A couple of pics would be cool, thanks

I personally have not had to work on my clutches yet. They all sound pretty strong, and seem to work well. I'll see if Dyslexic knows anything. I know he just bought a Comet clutch for his 340, so we'll see how that goes.
Sorry I couldn't be any help. Keep us posted if you find out more info on yours.

Hey Heavy - did you have a clutch puller to get that off? I have to pull one off of a ET300 and they are different from the ET340's.

Another Enticer 340 but a little older (1978). Had to leave it a home today; the fresh snow was up to the top of the head light on the Exciter.

BTW, this one is for sale. Great machine, just need room for some other vintage sleds.

Just brought home my new to me 340 enticer. Needs some tlc, plan on pulling the carb tomorrow and replacing all the old crusty fuel lines and c if I can do some magic and make it run lol. Only question is that it has the typical yamaha choke (enriching jet) but also a primer. The primer seems odd like it came off a doo. Is this how they came or someones ingenuity?

I just got my 250 running tonight!!!

I was going to do the carb swap...instead I decided to try something.

1) Removed fuel level indicator (It was cracked)
Just removed the plastic stem and replaced screw and the two washers

2) Replaced needle and seat.

Wow, She Runs!!!

One more to go before the weekend!

Well I got the ole 340 running long enough to end up walking home and getting out the plow to go and retrieve it. Compression tested before I left and had 110 and 60. Dead cylinder oh well wanted to ride it anyways hoping maybe with luck it might come back to life. Nope. Got a bit rattley and went poof instead. Guess it's engine rebuild time. It was a fun 10 minute ride tho.

You get an "A" for effort in my book! I'm gonna do a compression check on mine too- 110 and 60?! How did that thing even start!!??

Top ends are simple on these things.

It was actually 40 and 70 when I started. Lots of oil and patience working it back and forth got the compression up to that. It had a broken oil line as well, but weird thing was that the side getting no oil had the high compresion. I may just do a complete rebuild, who knows how starved of oil the bottom could have been. Just time and cash.
