That would be a fun get together. Set something up for MTN maina????
Call Ken at Mountain Magic. He was the tech director in the old NWSA racing series. He will be able to decipher where the Cats will be cheating as he is very familiar with punting them every weekend. Lol

There we go talking wild again, like I would toss a dryer under the hood for MMania.
Really!

Not always! I remember a sled mag that had a manufacturer shoot out. They weighed all the sleds and the Polaris entry seized its motor after the weigh in on the way back to the manufacturer trailer. Turned out it had no antifreeze in it for the weigh in. Major embarrassment. Lol

Next step get these sleds head to head in the deep stuff

that's been done so many times already......Poo & Doo are the fatty's when snow & ice are measured....but most of the members on Skeedoo& Mud have decided to ignore those facts though....lol

ok, my bad, maybe it hasn't been done with the Alpha but it has with the Cat chassis and that chassis held almost nothing for snow & ice....the Alpha will have the same positive results ....maybe even better.

I would say this is why my 850 consistantly got beat by Cats.
Doos are the worst for packing snow. Tunnel alays full of slush.
Polaris also but nearly as bad as the Doo.
The deeper the snow the worse it gets. If you hang out at the cabin you may not know this.

I think it's entirely to do with the design of the heat exchanger on the cat. Nothing running down the tunnel. The only downside that I have found is that you are going to need scratchers running up a long trail like Renshaw unless there's fresh pow on the trail.

What are the options for scratchers on the alpha? I'm guessing just the ski mount type?

The Alpha comes with factory scratchers hers mounted up front in the skid.
Pretty sure the Alpha will need scratchers down all the time on trail due to single rail design
I'm ok with that as a trade for zero snow packing in the tunnel or track.
The other guys can have the 40-60 extra pounds.

Ahh, perfect. Not something I really paid attention to on the demo ride. Too big of a grin to care really.

I agree with this, every stock G4 ive ridden seemed to fall on is face in mid range and top end, just made noise and no pull, same secondary setup since 2012, Hummmm, stock sucks as Jamie says.
Mine is definitely not running the stock clutching. It was the first thing I changed.

it has been done your right. while the results were interesting they were still inconclusive in my opinion. there is no way to scientifically prove that like there is with weight or horsepower.

I've thrown a leg over all three. Seat of my pants said they're all a bundle of fun. Argue all you want, as long as it's not a fat yammie, you're going to have a good day.
