I have the 155x2.5x16x2.86 pitch challenger extreme on my xp. The tips do measure a full 2.5" from the track to the tips of the paddles. a stock xp track measures about 2 5/16. I heard heard the xp track as a 2.3 some times and 2 1/4 some times. I guess it is a 2.3 (2 5/16).
I do wish I had got the 3.0 pitch with the full paddles on it. Last year when I put the turbo on my stock drivers ratcheted untill the track was way too tight. no sag at all. I put a set of avid drivers on and really wanted to put 7 tooth 3.0 drivers on and the 3.0 challenger extreme, but didn't feel like spending the extra money after I just got done spending a ch!t load of money with all the mods to the sled and all new klim gear last year.
So I put 2.86 pitch avid drivers on and kept the stock track. this year I got a good deal on a used 154 2.86 pitch challenger extreme in great shape so I got it and put a new timbersled skid in it. Only down fall is this track is ported more then the stock doo track. 3 of the square holes in the center instead of 2 like the stock doo track. I don't know that the porting is as bad as people make it out to be, but I probably wouldn't have ported it. I am thinking of getting a set of the port blockers/flaps that mm sports and felkers is selling to try it out.
I ported the track with 3 1" holes in the center on my 06 m7 (800 big bore, jaws twins, etc..) back when porting was the cool thing to do and didn't really notice any diffrence.
I am happy with the timbersled skid as it holds the front end down alot better then stock with the rear scisor relocate brackets to hold the front end down. I don't have to try to lean clear up over the bars like I did last year.

well sonofagun....went out and measured, 2-3/8" is the measurement of the lug height. room for heat expansion maybe? lol....

here's a couple more pics of the lugs from the back, the lugs aren't tapered but do kinda look like it in the pic. I measured the inside edges, and the center paddles....all are 2-3/8"

Teeroy, what is the model number of that track?

On the camo website it shows them having a square port in the middle of the track.

I went with the 2.86 because of the clearance issue. my stock track was rubbing the sides of the lugs, but never when lifted to check it out. I think running the track so loose with the extroverts allows the track to walk side to side under lateral loads. but i agree with the loss of paddle surface area, added up it must be quite a bit compared to the 3.0 pitch.

My brothers was all chewed up on both sides after one year so I went with the 2.86x2.5. I got 2.5 on most lugs when i measured. Definitely less lug surface area than the full width lugs but the 2.86 still pulls and floats better than the stock cheese grater and you won't sink when running water like I may have done with the stock track.

definitely better performance than the stock slipper, outclimbs and chews way better than the other 146" sleds I ride with, I think it works as well or better than a stock 154". Crazy Wheeler commented on how well it went compared to his 154" when we were in valemount last season, I held a 'mark for quite a while against a few longer sleds until Tabster decided to decimate it with his tapex. where it really shines is when you are almost at a standstill in the trees, it just seems to keep chewing away and finding traction somewhere.

water crossing is another thing, it scared the crap outta me when I tried the water with the cheese grater....not even 100' and I could feel it loading with water and starting to labour. made me paranoid to try water with my sled now, have you since you swapped yours out?

I put the 163 x 2.86 CE on for this year and its way better than stock but have not tried water crossing wih the new track. Got pulled out of castle creek once on a ported track. Lugs are only about 14.75 wide but the belt is still 16 so the floatation is still there just not quite as much drive as the full 16 wide. No issues with plugging up the tunnel as there is lots of room for snow to exit, no cost for extra drivers. Heading out with my brother in two weeks and will run both 09s to see the difference the lug width makes.

I'm thinking of trying one of these on my 2011 154x, I would first have to find a buyer for the stock track though.

You should be able to sell the stock track on a 2011 easily! 2.25 non ported with full width paddles...really why bother changing it unless you are going to the 3.0 pitch or a 3" paddle with a drop n roll.

Are the stock 2011 tracks a single ply? Might be some weight savings on the Camo 2.5

I was going to put one on my 2011 but decided it wasn't worth the money for the extra 1/8 of lug height, you biggest gain is the non porting I like the new doo track, chews really good.

the camo extreme 2.5 is a full quarter inch taller lug..doesnt seem like much....ask depsolvr :D

Humm Unless there are some bad tracks, or some are measuring the same way my buddy was measuring his. He thought he had a full 2.5 until I showed him how to measure it and his was 2 3/8. and he just got his.
I measure my stock track the same way and it measures 2.25. I dunno I going to the dealer on sat to measure another one, because I'm getting annoyed, I ordered a 2.5 so if there are actual 2.5, 2.86 pitch out there tracks canada better step up!! I want what I payed for!!

I tried a 2.5" next to my ported 08 track and it had way more traction, I expect the same with the non-ported of the 11?? Anyway I will have to try them side by side now that you mention it and some say its not a true 2.5"

Mine measured 2.5. It is narrower and the paddles are smaller, but the paddles are still right accross. I think it allows more air flow on the sides and doesn't rub. Everyone that has one noticed the difference for the better in traction and floatation. Stock drivers 2.86 and no troubles. Awsome update!

So just for comparison....I measured the lugs on my buddies new Pro RMK 163 which is listed as a 2.4" lug track....it measures 2.25. He didn't look impressed. :d

Maybe the measure the lugs from the inside of the track????
