I have seen a couple of primary clutches explode similar to that one. The reason was because a spark plug fell out of those spark plug holders that bolt on to the belt cover. The plug bounced up off the belly pan into the clutch and kaboom!
That sucks! You would think that they would have gone for a test drive before giving the truck to you. I hope that you turned around and got them to start a new work order.
Hopefully they will get it right this time for you! Good luck this time round!
Sounds like you are getting a handle on your latest mods. I believe it is normal for the fitting to get tighter as NPT fittings are slightly tapered to help seal better. You are lucky to be able to work on your truck while at work!
Good luck with your mods!
At least you are not afraid to admit a screw up...and it was not really your fault. Also it is nice to read that you can laugh about it! That will be a cool looking furnace exhaust though! :wtg:
4x5 in black chrome will look sweet!
You may want to take it easy on your new transmission...
I hear ya, 7 inch is a bit much...easy to damage and kinda ricey...5 or 6 inch would look a bit more matched to your truck IMO. How are you making out with your install?
Good luck with your new toys!
You have to pull the engine. If you bend the steel one and try and bend it back the metal can break off. This happened to my friend when we were out in the Renshaw...50 miles from our truck...I do not know very many people that could have riden a machine out of that area with no steering. If you...
Your next mod should be to add more air to the engine. A turbo upgrade is the way to do it. More air will clean up your burn and make it run a lot harder. Basic rule, add more fuel you have to add more air. If you get bored with that setup then you can add more fuel and change to a larger turbo...
I have been fortunate to live in many places across Canada...I loved them all. I don't have a problem with East vs West, just the poor unfair political adgendas that the Quebec government practices...especially when they are the worst run province. If they pulled up their socks and were not such...
Quebec has been consistantly the worst run province in Canada for many decades. They have the highest unemployment rates and the highest percentage of people on social programs. Every year they go into the hole even more. The thing that bothers me the most is that they are always screaming for...
When I saw Why's first post my first thought was TROLL! I PMed the moderators and asked for this post to be removed (and the person warned) so that the people in mourning would not have to see it. Sadly, this post was not deleted. I am not sure why as I bet more than one person has complained...
I agree that there is more than one way to do things. Sometimes you have to use many "tricks" to remove an old rusted bolt for instance. The more you can learn about a subject the better you can prepare for it. Also the more you learn before you tackle a project the less you are likely to mess...
I would not do that as it can blow metal chips into a cylinder/cylinders that has the valves open. Here is what you can do to make sure nothing gets into the turbo.
Take off the EGR cooler (if you have not done it to delete the egr system) and then you can stick a rag and or a magnet over top...
Sadly, a small minority of twits can and do ruin things for the majority in just about every sport that we enjoy. I am all for having some fun, but there is a time and place for it. The twit in the video went past a cop on a bike at one point but the cop did not pursue him...probably because it...
I have had no problems getting mods done to my truck in the states and crossing the border. They were mainly concerned that they get their 5% GST on the goods and services that I purchased. They did ask me several times if my purchases were for resale. If you are bringing in materials or goods...
I know that we all have pushed the limits at one point...my self included. I just hate to see guys get hurt (or worse) by playing at the wrong time or place is all. I have lost good friends over the years and it is not fun. I am sure that you are a responsible rider, I was just teasing you but...
A couple of my buddys have taken their trucks there for the stretch. They love the new combination!
Now would be a good time to do it as our dollar is so strong. If you are a bit sneaky you might not even have to pay GST tax on the job. Just buy some souveniers and say you went on a holiday...
I understand, but you can see my frustration with the whole thought process...burning 30-50% extra fuel to make the exhaust cleaner does not make sense. I miss the old 12 valve fuel economy also...driving slowly while piloting from Edmonton to Deadhorse Alaska and back I got 36 mpg with one...
You must not be a very good rider. You have to know when to let off dude! lol Sorry to hear about your crashes but it looks like you were pushing your luck with your stunts. I got rid of my burners because I was pushing my luck also. I decided to get out before I hurt my self or worse yet...
The stock "muffler" is a straight through design...more for appearances that actually quieting the engine...better term for it would be resonator. Very little sound difference if you go straight pipe from the DPF back.
I have tried a few exhaust combinations on my 6.7 CTD. First I tried an H&S...
Keep an eye on your carb boots after you install a boost bottle. Even though the boost bottle hardley weighs anything, over time they can break the tubes off of the carb boot and can cause engine problems. I had one on my 800 and after a 100 mile mountain run in Golden I was inspecting my sled...
