We have run into similar issues but only with ones that were not purchased from Roy. 3 of us are on 4 years with ours from Roy, no issues. And some others in our group with ones off Amazon, Ebay, or other places seem to have none stop issues wether that's with the unit itself or the mic's.
Only the Expert boards make a difference. The SP boards are all the same since 17 as far as I know. X boards are a bit better in the back than the SP but in my opinion they are the same up front where it matters.
Make sure you take them in and get them function tested and updated, I know that Mammut beacons have this functionality. Especially if you're not buying from someone you trust. That or buy new to get the peace of mind that when you need to save someone's life your equipment doesn't limit you...
Might be moisture in the housing, had a similar issue with the gauge not working. Didn't have problems with my headlights but it's worth a look. Be careful and take it apart and let it dry out really well, then try it.
Google how to set your sag properly for starters, and if it's still not how you want it then start adjusting. If you want lighter ski pressure increase the spring pressure in the center shock and decrease it in the rear shock. Can decrease the spring pressure in the front shocks if neccessary...
My whole set up is exit x2 shocks. Ski shocks centre shock and rear shock. You dont need to do that tho, could get away with just doing the delete and an x1 shock.

Coming from someone who had one for years on my XM. You are better off to not put it on, it'll rob you horse power and only cause you problems down the road. Not to mention it is the most annoying sounding can to almost everyone around you.
I've had both pairs of my klim boots warrantied one for the soles and one for the boa piece main attachment broke off. Soles were within the one year and the other pair were after almost 3 years.
