You do not need glue to turn a bolt with a 6 point socket.. The glue on this shaft is added strength (and it needs it)
IMO--> if there was no glue, AND there was NO "flex" then the 6 points of contact would hold the end caps in place on its own..
But, the reality is.. there is MAJOR flex and...
The Polaris shaft Is solid in the tunnel
IMO.. it is the chicken or the egg scenario... What fails first?? The Glue or the Shaft extrusion?
Here is the way it looks to me..
1) The shaft is mounted solid at each end within the tunnel. ANY lateral movement would and could only occur if the...
No doubt this is better than not doing anything.. But be careful.. each drill hole leaves a higher potential for a stress fracture.. The pieces are so thin that any fracture/crack will end up splitting the shaft..
We have developed a fix for this issue that will get you by until Polaris issues the official recall/fix.

Not allowed to talk price on this forum.. But for 3 kits, I can make you a deal..
Yes, SPI and MCB are the same Chinese piston ...just one is in a different box and has oiling holes ..
Great question...
While it is not my intent to get into a full blown discussion on 2 stroke theory and such (way too lousy of a typer for that:()
We can GREATLY simplify what is happening internally for the sake of this question.
Anytime a piston is in contact with the cylinder the piston is...
With all due respect, this was NOT a mechanical defect, it was a piston design problem where they failed to address the added heat and lack of piston cooling from fuel (that is not present on the ETEC due to its design). So, they changed the design to try and address the problems that are...
With all due respect, the ETEC has had a full piston recall.. So :confused:pass the pipe
Warranty Bulletin 2011-18 800R E-TEC Piston Replacement is VIN-specific, affecting overall E-TEC MODELS as listed below that are 1) used generally at an altitude of 1200m (4000 ft) & above AND 2) have...
Feel free to call me anytime for setup info.. I actually still own my 2007 Rev 860..too good of sled to part with.. But the set up is critical..

We put over 1200 hard mountain miles on our 858 kit.. Worked excellent and made great power.. Very happy with it..
You can check out the details here:
We will devoting much of this upcoming season to making it even better..

The 07 Bottom end had crank issues and case machining issues as did the 08(crank)
The reman cranks and cases from BRP are 99% of the time BRAND NEW units.. since 09 the crank and cases have been very good.. Getting a new crank and case is the best choice IMO.. you need to tell your dealer that...
The specialty kit is not a RK Tek kit.. It uses the RK Tek Head but using the head does not make it an RK Tek kit... There are at least 7 perf shops that use the RK Tek head on their big bore kits.. Again, having the RK Tek head does not make it an RK Tek Big Bore kit..There is much more to ANY...
Again, I do not ride or set up SHR kits.. But I can tell you that if it were my kit.. The Y pipe and can would HAVE to go FOR SURE if it is ever to run right.. But on his kit, they may work fine.. I would just do whatever John recommends and NOT question ANY of it REGARDLESS of how "silly" it...
maxwell
If your kit is a SHR 860, then I would do what Johns recommends.. He knows HIS kit better than anybody..
If the kit is one of mine.. we should talk because with your current set-up, it will NEVER run even close to its potential without major changes

100% correct.. that is why ALL the dyno sheets we have are from people I would not know if they were standing next to me... In other words.. neutral dyno facilities.
Great point...
Like I said earlier.. The BS stops on the mountain... you can not fake HP..
Again... methodical testing methods...
The BS stops on the hill.. You can not fake performance or HP WITH A WELL SETUP SLED!
Meaning: you have one or more WELL SET UP (similar in track length and weight AND RIDER ABILITY) sleds and you point them up a Steep hill that is loaded with powder and then you can see what is making power...
