Blocker plate is probably what you're looking for. It is installed in the flanged connection between the pass. side up-pipe ( exhaust from the header goes up behind the engine by the firewall to the turbo, but the up-pipe is a "Y" shape and the third connection is what you'll see connecting up...
That's basically the same as my 2500 CCSB Duramax then.... GVWR is 9200#, truck weighs 7200# with me in it. If you want to put anything in a truck Legally you really need a 3500 IMO.
I buy Transynd at Watrous Diesel as well. Buy your spin-on filters there too they're $10 or so.
As an aside, there is a Fleetguard engine oil filter you can buy at Cummins for cheap. $14 IIRC.
There are a number of adapters ( Nicktane, ADP... ) you can buy to run a $20 CAT 2micron fuel...
Try a pan heater out. I use one on the Duramax, and along with the factory block heater, the valve covers are warm on -30 mornings. $50 and easy install.

I was just out there for the first time. They're not kidding when they say theres another trail crossing yours every km. You could go and ride easy with some kids or rip it up too. Looks like lots of varying terrain.
Have you considered having your rims blasted and powdercoated some color? I did a set like that and they clean easy, look good, and seem more durable than others I had with aftermarket finish.
There is a big difference between being able to ride with a clutch and mastering it. Really to ride with one all you need to use it for is getting going from a start, then just back off the gas a little when grabbing gears.
Mastering it is another story and requires a lot of time and...
