Right on...keep them coming!! Just want to add that yeah these are trucks and not gonna get stellar mileage...lol But it is interesting to see the different ranges

I have a 2010 Chevy 1500 4wd with a 6.2l. I put it on propane to save fuel costs. Propane is .759 and prem is 137.9 reg gas is 124.9. My truck gets 13.2l per 100km empty with my sled trailer on 14.5 to 15.2. Now with my holiday trailer 22l per 100km. The truck stock will run 14.9 sec in the 1/4 mile with traction control on with it off the truck spins way to much the 6.2l chevy engine is a monster. My 81 Camaro Z-28 new only ran 15.5 in the 1/4 mile. I have a buddy that has a Dodge 2011 with a hemi his fuel econ is the same empty but sucks with his enclosed sled trailer on 8.9 mpg(the trailer is only 2200lbs empty) he has not pulled it full yet any distance yet.

I call BS on the 10/11 L per 100km..... for 3/4 and 1 tonn
my chevy 3500 454 4 speed std. 350km/130l so 37.2L/100km on the highway but will pull ANYTHING
my 6.5 diesel 3/4 gets about 600km to 130L so 22l/100km

I average about 16.5l/100km at 120km and had it up to 19l/100km with summer tires 33" sport truck rubber avg. speed between 150-180km. top speed (I've been up to 210km) no one else on road.
Trip back home Salmon Arm, BC had it as low as 13L/100km avg. speed 100-120km.
Tow haul mode 2 ATV's and a heavy all steel horse trailer (3000+Lbs?) 18L/100km.

man you deserve to be grouchy with gas mileage like that out of your 454.....I dont think I could get that bad out of my 454.......... if i tried! that is like ruffly 7 mpg......I hauled a trailer with 10 000++ pounds from edmonton back to BC..... 130-140km/hr on the flat and 110-120 in the mountains, and never got that bad......maybe you need to get a tune up? mileage on this truck?

time to put that old girl on propane.....my 91 4x4 ext cab chevy was cheaper to drive to edmonton than my supercharged 4 cylinder Toyota MR2.......but I liked the duel fuel idea!

I am averaging about 900km highway per tank and have 1/8th left when I fill up, which tends to be about 110L and I have a 136L tank

I'm just going by my overhead. I know for sure that it's not quite the same but close when it comes toKm per tank shown when I compare it against km traveled. Lots of variables always into play. I'm always traveling up or down from where I live.

2000 GMC Sierra ext. cab 4X4, 4:10's and a 6.0L gas engine, 13.2mpg is the best I ever got empty on the highway(21.5L/100km) Gets the exact same milage pulling my trailer loaded up with 4 quads and guys and all gear at 125-135kph down the highway. Couldn't tell you how much mileage going slower but it doesn't seem to change empty or loaded I get 390-440km out of a 95ish litre tank!!

Most guys should know that a newer trucks have 6 speed transmissions and better gearing. Chev Ford and even Dodge have steped up and are giving us better mileage (on half tons). Even on 3/4 and 1 tons are not that bad. Before 2007 the mileage was not that good. We just lived with 7 or 8 mpg on our 454 Chevs 460 Fords and 440 Dodges. We can't even compare those time to now.
I agree....the 6.2L is a powerhouse!!
I have a 2011 GM 1/2T crewcab with the 6.2L and IF I take it easy, I can be around the 13.2-13.5l mark.....unfortunately, taking it easy is too hard.....this thing is just too much fun. I usually end up in the 16.5 l range.....I will eventually get used to it and drive better.....but for now I will just enjoy the hp
