Looking good, the reason the tank is shallow was because the trackhoe could not dig much deeper because of its reach and we added 6" more of gravel under than we should have, its fine to be shallow except that freezing is a bit of an issue but Doug fixed that problem, good job man!
Had lots of fun today with Doug, he was well prepared and very cool to deal with. I knew I was in the right place when I showed up and he offered me a beer but unfortunately I cant stand the stuff so more for him ha ha. Burial was pretty straight forward, hole could have been a foot deeper but...
I will NEVER go back to Mexico after my last experience there, I have never been so scared for my family in my life and we are lucky to be alive what we saw was unexplainable, I cannot talk about my experience on social media because it could get me offed even here I believe, I have researched...
Just looked up my Factory Yamaha extended warranty for the Winder, $1300.00 for 3 years full coverage and if I don't use it or make a claim at the end I get $1000.00 in store credit to use any way I like. I bought the warranty cuz I figured if the engine goes down it will be expensive otherwise...
The ol T3 works quite well, it does have porting and headwork by Ralph, clutching by Darrell Baker at Racers edge and I did a track swap to a Camoplast 3 inch with 8 tooth drivers and lastly a stainless can from SSI. I am hitting close to 48 mph track speed with this sled and its very consistent...
Boys this sled does look good but it performs even better, the clutch combo that Benny has come up with after extensive changes and testing is now bang on and has completely changed that sled, the grin fator is a 10. This sled doesnt need a flash boys, probably not worth the issues it creates...
I told you it was gonna be loud, happy eardrums ha ha!! By the way I am quite happy with the noise drop and I have noticed no difference in power from the straight pipe, Lund is right the noise isn't so bad once you get up top.
I am running the hurricane tune which in my opinion is more like a 40 hp gain so I am happy to see 65 mph forsure. We ride everywhere so to go Revy way works to, I just threw it out there because if a few guys wanna wrench for a day it sure shows you quick results on the same snow conditions and...
Yes it is the Cat bumper and yes it does fill up with snow but I like the protection as I seem to find the trees a bit annoying so I run em over, did some clutching on the sidewinder and got it quite dialled in, 9050 rpm forever on any hill with 2 feet of powder, track speeds were as high as...
We are hopefully going next weekend (Feb 2nd) depending if the snow Gods bring some fluff to the hills for us to play in! We are also doing some wizzy clutching on the Alpha so that will be interesting, but that is secret info ha ha, I will let Dragonweld and Niner post about that if we get...
The SSI profile looks much better than my STM weights, I have noticed a little less bottom end pull with the STM weights as well, we will see I guess, they are also a pain in the ass to change on the hill, small screws etc whereas the SSI is a magnet. I need to get my machine to proper RPM as I...
I will be for my next trip out, gonna try the SSI weights the profile looks very promising and I like the ease of changing the magnetic weights, some say the magnets do not stay in but I find that hard to believe so I will try it out for myself and see how it goes, I have buddies running them in...
Re: Sidewinder 17-18 comparison/highlights
The drop and roll is not worth it at all, sticks out way below and everything is vulnerable. Does it beat a regular one out of the hole yes, slightly and Kibbles and XM rider both pulled me out of the hole but it is not totally because of there dropped...
Now Kanedog has a hit there, this thread should be a sledders list to determine whether they pull someone out or not, Please share man, its gotta be good! I imagine a few on the list are, Is the person drunk or stoned? Maybe the Yamaha factor a bit but I can assure you as an unbiased owner they...
I think you need to add fuel to your 5000 rpm to 122 and definitely take feel away on your top numbers that is too much, cut those numbers in half and do some runs and watch your temps, I think i had my fuel at +12 max with my porting pipe etc. The mid range is lean so definitely get fuel added...
I did video my ride on the Alpha and did look at the speedo so I will fire up the go pro and see what the vid shows, my only battle is posting vids, I suck at it.
The lockout shock is not working on the Sidewinders at all unless you put a coupler block in, there is too much power and the wheelie everywhere even on full lockout, that is why I say that this will not work on the Alpha once you get it over 200 hp, it will need a coupler block as well. Amazing...
The only problem that will happen with the Alpha under boost is the shocks will not keep the front end down, they are perfect for stock and mabe even all the bolt on mods but once you put real power to it the shocks gotta go, how do you deal with that problem on the mono rail, I dont know but...
