The 24 people killed on the family farm last year and the 4 children killed over the past few months are sadly statistics. A horrible trend that is just getting worse. I see the obvious.

Not so much. I grew up in small town Alberta and worked on farms for many many years. You are right they are not Suncor. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don't have the answers but there are many issues at the farm related to OH&S. Prime Contractor, employer, employee and Worksite to name a few. These responsibilities get blurred on some farms. Then you look at risks like confined space, lockout-tagout, WHMIS and secure storage of...

Considering the size of the industry and the number of people working on the farm, the safety performance is pathetic. We only know half the story because there has been no requirement to report farm injuries. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well we voted them in! Time for employment standards on the farm just like everywhere else. AB is the last Province to adopt WCB coverage for farmers. Only 25 fatalities on the farm in 2014 - I don't understand the problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Lay Offs

I think you are right. The Wabamun Plant is down with a couple Sundance Units. I think Keephills has two Units running. No hope of any new units anymore. Keephills might have had most of the equipment on site for Units 3 and 4 back in the 80's.

Decomissioning of Sundance has been planned for years (old and out of date). Last year electricity generated by natural gas surpassed coal fired electrical generation in the USA. We do have several other coal operations in Alberta (Sheerness, Battle River, Genesee and Keephills) - they will...

    2016 f350 diesel

Not sure about the 2016's but my 2015 CC Short Box has a small tank (maybe 90l) so the best range is 700km or 650km in the winter. Hopefully a larger tank is an option for '16. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Recession just around the corner?

The Canadian Public (government) has refused to approve any new refineries (only modest improvements to existing). What we end up with is way too much demand for the existing supply. That is why the price is high in Canada - a much better balance between demand and supply in the USA.

    Recession just around the corner?

Unfortunately there is a long way to go before the bottom of the cycle is over. North American Oil Reserves at historical highs, NA production still increasing and with no NA export ability, there is no line of site for either oil or gas price improvement. I hope we exit 2016 north of $60 oil...

    Alberta's New Budget

You are kidding right! Greece didn't get into the problem they are in because they cut programs. Very much the opposite. A record Alberta Defecit followed by record Debt - pathetic.
